That seems far far over the odds to wait for a come up on MDMA. It would usually be 25-30 mins on an empty stomach and around an hour max on a full stomach. Are you really sure this was MDMA?

At first I would have guessed it was Piperazines if you had said around the 2 hour mark but 4 hours is even excessive for that.

Most of the experience sounds like MDMA, but the wait for come up does not? How did you ingest? I assume it was not insuffulated but taken orally? What did you wrap the crystals/powder in when you took it?

Yeah it was orally, but it was taken after a three course meal :|
I dunno.
I think a lot if it had to do with having eaten and people asking me every two minutes was i up yet :|
I know it sounds highly unusual. But it's what happened :|

I do think you can mentally delay the come up somewhat, it has happened SWIM previously, but that long with 500mg seems excessive.

Anyone else with any input on why this could be?

This a story about SWIMS most intense experience of MDMA, he wasn't ever really intending to share it online but the posts of other users on this thread have inspired him.

SWIM was working at a festival in Devon (UK) called Beautiful Days as a litter picker. It had been an amazing weekend. On the day the punters went home swims team of about 30 or so people still had another 2 days to work there. Anyway as a litter picker you tend to find lots of useful things on the ground in festivals (swim hadnt had to buy drink or weed all weekend) anyway a colleague of swims found a bag a of off-white powder on the ground which to the naked eye looked about an eighth or just over. Well this guy wasnt sure what it was and was keen to sell it so swim offered him a very small amount of money for it (put it this way swim found 5 times that much money on the floor that day). Another colleague of swims, for the purpose of this story i'll call him Mark went halves on it aswell

Swim dabbed a bit on his finger and put it on his tongue and the taste reminded him of the last time he took MDMA (although he wasnt certain that it was MDMA cuz he isnt too expereinced with it).

So anyway swim finished his work for the day hit the showers (yep, we had showers at the festival) and then he and mark went out into one of the many fields on the festival sites with a few drinks and their lovely powder. Mark at 39 was older than SWIM, but they had connected well over the weekend and felt comfortable with each other. Mark being an old-school festival goer (Glastonbury since 1979 etc) had guided swim through his first festival and swim was very grateful for that.

After a couple of drinks each they decided to start on the powder and put some on a card (about a tea-spoonful each) and swigged it down with their drinks (cider for swim). Now the next half hour or so was quite a worrying time for swim, as he was thinking what if that wasnt MDMA and things like that. So you can imagine his elation when he feels those first waves of absolute euphoria washing over him. Now this was good shit like nothing he had done before, Mark was loving it too. We were talking about family, he had been disowned by his family as a teenager and had had no contact with his parents since, he had a daughter he had never met and other children who you could tell he would do anything for.

Before we got too deep they decided to do some more MDMA, at this point swims recollection gets somewhat hazy but he thinks they both did roughly the same amount again by the same method. This must've been just over an hour after are first roll as it was beginning to get dark.

Now it was after this 2nd roll that swim had a feeling that there was something very imporant important that he needed to tell Mark. Swim believes that there is a reason for everything and therefore that it wasnt just coincidence that he and Mark had been thrown together in this situation with sum MDMA. Swim had an overwhelming feeling that Mark should get in contact with his long lost daughter, Mark made excuses as to why he couldnt, that she might not like him etc but eventually he did admit that he wanted to and that he should.

Now here the story gets a bit funny, swim and mark started walking around what had been the festival site that for the last few days had held 12000 (i think) people. As swim was walking he could see people and hear music as if the festival was still going on. swim has thought about this since and has decided that in some way objects etc store memories and that is what he was picking up on or maybe he was just fucked or maybe both. much to marks amusement swim kept walking up to empty spaces in the field and trying to talk to people, when swim got close to these 'people' they dissapeared only to be replaced by other people a bit further away. Anyway when they eventually did find some real people swim convinced himself that they werent real and started contesting their existance with them, luckily they found it funny.

After that point in the evening swim cannot recall anything although he knows he was up til the early hours and finished the rest of the mdma with mark.

Anyway the next morning swim got up for work feeling suprisingly good, felt in the zone all day picking litter and the hours flew past. had a couple more nites at there where mark and swim chilled with drink and smoke and talked about shit a lot more. mark agreed to sort swim out a job at Glastonbury next year (he was a supervisor on their litter team) and swim practically bit his hand off as he has always wanted to go to Glastonbury, so i took his number and he took mine.

About 3 weeks ago swim sent mark a txt he got a call back later on from marks daughter saying that mark had died in an accident. swim is still upset about this but is determined to go to Glastonbury next year to carry on marks tradition.

SWIM finds using cocaine sobers you up when used with E and ruins the entire point of taking E.

A few nights ago swim had been given a free purple exclamation mark (with sparkles in it wich is something swim has not seen in any other pills ) by a friend. swim gets home and takes the pill around 9:34 pm. Swim had not had supper so the pill came on fast. Swim lay down in his bed and started to listen to techno. as the pill's effects started to climb the music sounded even more and more strange, it had somewhat of an echoe to it. It suddenly got to be to much for swim, he ripped the ear-buds out of his ears. Relieved, he sat up and began to have a conversation with his digital clock. swim was mad at his clock because he felt it always sped up time in the morning just to piss him off (swim likes to sleep in). Swim thought that maybe the reason the clock always went so fast was because swim never used the alarm on his clock, swim felt that the clock might be mad at him for never useing it's alarm. swim's thought's trailed off. He realised that he no longer needed to smoke cigarettes. Right at that moment he felt he would never need a cigarette ever again. But he decided to continue smoking just because he enjoys it. Swim then felt a strong connection with everything in his room, he felt that all of his possesion's where a part of him in some way. He felt that everything in his room represented a peice of his personality, a peice of his soul and that everytime someone entered swim's room and saw his possesion's, it further helped them understand his personality and what his beliefs are. After that swim relaxed and enjoyed the extravagant flavours of the food and drink he had prepared for himself.

Overall, a short experience lasting a maximum of 4 hours. But what swim found interesting about it, is that he now feels no urges or craveings for cigarettes. Infact he barely even thinks about them anymore. Yet, he does still smoke them as he feels he does not yet want to quit. So, people trying to quit smoking might want to give MDMA a try. Swim now knows that he will have no problem quitting smoking when he decides to in the future, he believes MDMA has helped him in that area. Swim hopes this might help someone who is haveing trouble quitting smoking. Happy popping!

It does sound very much like MDMA. A sort of echolalia with music. A one-ness with whatever is present in the environment. An in-depth determination towards personal change.

One observed person took some pure MDMA crystal. He fell in love with a 10-pound rock (4kg). Carried his beloved all over town that night expressing his devotion for it. That was, indeed, MDMA.

He wasn't the brightest bulb to begin with.

Love the 'falling in love with a rock' thing. SWIM finds some of the stupid stuff people do whilst buzzing is the thing you remember most from that session.

SWIM tried E for the first time at the Reading Festival in August this year. He had only started taking drugs a few weeks before, just coke, which he had found to be quite subtle, so he wasn't quite sure what to expect from something that cost just a fraction of the price of coke.

It was the last night and he dropped a half at 9pm just before going into the dance tent. He was feeling quite anxious seeing as it was his first time, but he was with his friends who had done it before and were there to talk about any concerns. It got to 9.30 and he wasn't feeling it at all. He was feeling quite bad, in fact. So he left with a couple of friends who wanted to go and watch Pearl Jam. He dropped another half. It got to 10pm and he was still feeling really down.

He wasn't a fan of Pearl Jam, but they started to play Even Flow and the guitarist began to play the guitar behind his head. Suddenly his vision became incredibly sharp and he was convinced that this behind the head guitar playing was the best thing he had ever seen. It was like the stage had doubled in size and everyone around him looked somehow different, like when you put your glasses on and everything comes into focus, it was as if someone had put glasses on top of his glasses.

He turned to his friends and declared his new found love of pills. Soon they had abandoned Pearl Jam and went back to the dance tent, but it was full. They were happy to dance just outside the tent, because they didn't want to upset people by pushing through. Eventually they decided that they should push inside because it was finishing soon. They couldn't find the rest of their friends. Then that song by someone or other that has the line "We are your friends, you'll never be alone again" came on and they found their friends. It was the most incredible feeling ever.

At 11pm it finished and they went back to their camp. He dropped a whole pill. On the way SWIM had a conversation that he cannot remember one single word of, all he knows is that it was the fasted conversation of all time. He spent the rest of the night sitting on a chair listening the music around a fire thinking how wonderful the night had been and how glad he was that he had friends like these. He decided to check his tent to make sure nothing had been stolen, but while he was searching all he could think was "I hope they have stolen everything. If stealing my things will make them happy, then let them steal". Unfortunately nothing had been stolen. It rained and it was the best rain that ever was.

Then came the first drop out of it. It was horrible. He spent half an hour squeezing the arms of the chair, not saying anything or moving. It was up and down for about an hour, but he couldn't take it anymore. So he went into his tent and curled up into a ball. He awoke five hours later with a new view of the world. The world was great and people are essentially good. He also couldn't stop dancing or hearing music that didn't exist. This continued for five days.

It was the best night of his life. Until the next time.

I saw that pearl jam set this year too. Swim has to say he would not do pills at reading festival as there are far too many people there who are only to glad to take advantage of anyone in a slightly vulnerable state and also the festival is generally pretty aggressive. Also getting out of it on the last morning is hell, must've been even worse for you?

SWIM took three Es on Friday. It was the fourth time he had taken them.The last time was two months ago. He had a very good time, he had the usual amazing sensations, except for about an hour he was very lethargic and couldn't move for a while when he was sitting down, which he said was surprisngly enjoyable rather than distressing.

He drank a lot of orange juice the next day, took vitamin tablets, but couldn't eat a lot. He didn't feel particularly down at all. He went out again on Saturday and took three of the same pills as Friday, but something completely different happened. When he came up there were two voices in his head, the one that tells him that everything is wonderful and another one that contradicted everything the happy voice said. He felt really aggressive, nothing like he usually does on E. The euphoric feelings and love he felt towards people was immediately replaced by hate and a desire for something horrible to happen to the people whenever he saw someone. There was conflict all night between the person who wanted to have fun and the person who was having a terrible time. It was like coming up and coming down at once.

He started to hallucinate sounds, images and touch, but not in a good way. Everyone on the dance floor changed to look like the people in the Aphex Twin Window Licker video. It felt like he was in hell. He also vomitted,hadn't been drinking alcohol and been drinking water wisely. The aggressive and angry voice stayed in his head until Sunday evening and the hallucinations came back for a bit at 1am Monday morning, but they weren't particularly scary.

He thinks someone might have put something in his drink, because he offered some water to someone and it looked like he may have put something in it. SWIM has never taken LSD, but imagines that what he felt on Saturday night would have been be what a bad trip on Acid feels like. He's more or less back to normal now, but isn't too keen to take another E any time soon.

Does anyone know of people experiencing similar effects on E, could it be down to doing it two nights in a row, or is it more likely that his drink was spiked with something else?

Sounds like SWIM was given Dextromethorphan rather than MDMA. This happens - unfortunately. This is one of the biggest problems of MDMA being illegal - jerks selling other chemicals and lying about their compositions to make a quick dollar/pound.

Thanks. I checked the effects of DXM on wikipedia and SWIM had pretty much all of them. At least he knows that as long as he gets MDMA it isn't going to happen again, so he can look forward to the next time.

Here is a FIRST TIME expierience, i know its pretty long... but i think its pretty interesting - this doesnt happen to many people HAHA - in order to tell the story right i had to include the details, it makes it easier to acctually picture what happened

SWIM went to her (now ex) boyfriends moms wedding, it was a small wedding, nothing too fancy, not a lot of people.. her boyfriend brought along his best friend (ill call him BOB)... on the way to the wedding BOB told them about how he had started doing X and how it was the most amazing feeling anyone can expierience, they didnt think much about it and had no idea that he acctually had some with him..

after the bride and groom exchanged vows everyone sat down to eat, swim, her bf, and bob were at a table by themselves and swim notices the two of them whispering to eachother.. she quickly found out what it was about when her bf asked if she wanted to try X and asked if he could as well..

swim had never even THOUGHT about doing this before and was hesitant... she was a little nervous because she thought X was extremely dangerous, BUT her biggest concern was getting caught... she had no idea what it was like or what it would do to her and wanted to make sure she would be able to act normal around everyone at the wedding

BOB promised that it would take a long time before she felt anything and by THAT time the wedding would be over and they would be on their way home, he assured them that no one would suspect a thing.....so they all three took a tab right there at the table...

Swim knew NOTHING AT ALL about X, therefore she had NO IDEA what to expect - the only thing BOB told them about it was that it was an AMAZING feeling and that didnt get her very excited... basically, she wasnt expecting anything more than a good feeling... So Swim almost instantly forgot about the little blue tab and went on as of nothing had happened, she wasnt worried at all and thought nothing more about it... until it hit her...

it happened as she was watching the bride and groom shove cake in eachothers faces, it had only been ablout 20 mins, she sarted to feel light headed, noticed a tingly/numb sensation come accross her whole body, and realized she had zoned out... she decided to sit down... she knew it was coming and thought to herself "i can handle this, i just need to focus, how hard could it be?" so she focused her attention on the bride and groom again, they were talking, doing some kind of speech... Swim quickly realized that she had zoned out again-almost instantly... she was looking at them but had no idea what they were talking about and no matter how hard she tried, she couldnt get a grip on what was happening around her, she just kept spacing out, she would try her best to listen and a second later she would "wake up" and have no idea what was just said or what she had just seen, she kept trying to focus her eyes on the front of the room but would have to re-adjust and re-focus instantly

Swim was starting to get worried, she knew that she must have looked completely LOST and knew that her bf was probably feeling the same way.. she had NO IDEA where he was - it calmed her down a little thinking that he was with Bob because SURELY Bob was okay, he had done X before, he would be able to watch her bf and make sure he wasnt too obvious, meanwhile swim was okay sitting in her chair... at that moment, Bob walks past Swim and said "wow......i am SOO gone"

WELL GREAT! now Swim was freaked out -- All of a sudden everyone started moving around and talking at once, people were telling Swim to get up and move over to one side of the room, she got up and tried to figure out what everyone was saying and ended up standing up next to a bunch of women all talking at once while trying to push eachother out of the way, Swim was looking around for her bf or Bob - she was SOOO confused and just wanted to get away from all of the chaos... and then OUT OF NOWHERE a bundle of flowers came flying toward her head, her first instinct was to catch them... that was bad... as soon as she caught them everyones attention was directly on her.. she was swarmed with people, all of them saying something.. it was all happening way fast, she had no time to think and couldnt comprehend anything anyone was saying to her, they sat her down in a chair and were saying something about whichever guy caught the garter was going to pull it off her leg or something... She was sitting there looking around at all the people talking to her trying to make sense of any of it while trying to look normal at the same time... Bob must have seen her freaking out because he made up some reason for her to go outside with him...

She told him that there was NO WAY she was going back in there and to tell everyone she felt sick and needed to leave... Swim went and sat in the back seat of the car and waited for bob to find her bf.. when she sat in the car she noticed that everything felt GOOD, she was rubbing her hands up and down her legs and arms over and over, it felt AMAZING running her fingers through her hair and masaging her head, and the feeling of her hair brushing accross her face as she shook her head back and fourth was so intense that she couldnt stop.. she would twirl her head around in big circles letting her hair fall all over her face, she was making herself dizzy but that only made it better... they all left the wedding and swim stayed in the back seat for the entire hour drive home moving her head in circles and rubbing her head, face, neck, arms and legs.. she had no idea that "touch" could be SOOO amazing! she was blown away by the extreme pleasure and happiness she was feeling, and the music!!! she could feel the music surround her, music had never seemed so incredible! it didnt matter how HORRIBLE this trip started out, in the end it was TOTALLY worth it! Swim, felt closer to her bf than she had ever felt before, she thought about all of the problems in her life and realized that everything would get better, she changed the way she looked at life...

Swim always despised(well not despise, but never saw the point) in xtc, but on New years eve, swim and his friend where trying to get some lsd to no avail he came out with pills (Sharks, pure white). So swim thought he would give it a try, since he has done alot of other drugs wth his friend before and knows his friend has done xtc before. swims took the first one at about 12:30AM new years day in his friends house, i start to feel light-headed (maybe all the alcohol and pot :P) but a little paranoid, anways we remembered one of swims ex's was having a new years party (and boy she knows how to party), swim's friend tells him to listen to his mp3 player to which i became entranced with music, keep in mind im a rocker,swim was listening to stuff like nirvana, metallica, primus.......singing at the top of my voice, playing air guitar, drums etc.


so swim gets to this party and woah aload of people where there who id thought would never be there, alot of swims friends, which freaked me out at first, but about 5 minutes later i was in bliss.....then i learn that about 80% of the people there are on speed, that was horrible to hear, i felt really sorry for these people (i consider speed as bad as smack, so no offence to any peeps).

then we went down to meet some people outside our local rock club but it was shut, so we thought damn popped another one (this was about 3AM). walked back to swims friends house got all the alcohol apart from a small bottle of jack daniels. smoked alot of skunk then brought quite abit back at this party, swim arrives back. anarchy has broke loose, panic attacks, people voilently throwing up, nasty dogs. but we thought it was all funny. so swim started drinking more amidst all this anarchy, we go upstairs to find a bass guitar (with proper amps and everything) and a drum kit, so swim formed a temporary band which couldnt play for jack. swim had a wierd halloucination or two, swims friend thought a bottle of stella was a wii remote

swim noitced that you can walk for miles as long as you have music and ciggarettes

Dancing ciggarette lol, swim was smoking a luckie while playing the drums and the jaw tension kicked in, it just went sick, my ciggarette did look like it was dancing or something
theres alot more that happened but its all hazey and wierd, apart from what i first thought about it, fun drug, fun times, if with the right people
