Types of Adderall and the difference.

For about 6 months now, i was prescribed and been taking Adderall for ADHD.

I started on the 10mg generic med ( lil blue pill ) and the effect was similar to drinking a pot of coffee in under 5 minutes. I liked it, it gave me the energy and motivation to work out and stay active. It also supressed my appitite which was also a plus. After a while i was taking 2 of them. One in the morning and the other anytime before 4pm ( so that it didnt effect my sleeping habits ) Any way...
My dosage was up'd to the 20mg XR adderall which from what ive heard is the hardest hitting adderall out there. The thing is that it seems to have no effect on me, and definetly does not hit as hard as the 10mg and from what i can tell doesnt last as long either. I know it has the time release on it, but other forums say that the peak is even more then the 10mg.

I'm trying to figure out what adderall hits the hardest, in terms of which type really gives you that jittery, cant sit still feeling. I know it sounds bad but i honestly believe that it was helping me to keep healthy and fit.

Any experienced adderall users out there that can inform me?

I take 10mg of the little blue pill (not Viagra) and 20mg of the Adderall XR.


I had the same sort of question in my mind, then i figured it out. See, it's kind of like comparing working out to working out and using steroids.

Working out (Adderall XR) is great and a big a help. But then you start working out with steroids (regular Adderall) and the boost hits you so much faster. It's not until you stop working out that you realize how big a difference it made.

now time to put it in non Gregory House terms.


When i take the regular Adderall it feels amazing! Inspiration, happiness, clarity, euphoria, self confidence, just excellent in every way. Jittery and even a bit psychosis too. The Adderall XR does not give the same kind of kick because it is more of a base. It works really well but more like a constant extended release (which it is) and it works like that way.

It's not until i was forced to go without my Adderall XR (ran out and forgot to get more) that I realized how much i under appreciated it and how much it did work like regular Adderall, just went about it differently. When i went back on it i realized how good it was.

Amphetamines are already a long lasting drug, so regular aderall isn't going to go away in an hour, but the rush is still there. As for XR, the little beads are coated in different amounts of wax, and when in the stomache each bead digests at a different rate so only a couple at a time are released, extending the same dose over a longer period of time. Now if you crushed the beads, put them back in the pill as a fine powder, and swallowed the capsule, you'll get the same results as plain ol' aderall. It'll hit harder and stronger, but not last as long (which swim's never found to be a big deal, especially when all you want is sleep). Hope this helped out, any more questions feel free to ask.

Thank you guys. I was just confused a little. Just because i have heard that the 20mg XR are hard hitters and i have not been getting that. But you're absolutley correct in the sence that it does do the job. I mean i feel the 20mg XR working, but i like having that sudden burst of restlessness in the morning when taking the 10mg.

Do you think it's a bad idea to take 2 20mg XR's in the morning. One crushed up to get that jitter and then the other one to last through out the day? or would that be to much? I usually take about 30-35 mg through out the day anyway.

to be on the safe side Swiy should just take one XR and one regular in the morning normal. and take any other regular as needed.

20mg XR won't hit as hard as 20mg IR.

Theoretically, 50% of the XR is actually IR, and the other 50% releases after 4 hours or so (there's wax around it or something that takes time to dissolve, so obviously this will cause problems since everyone has a different digestive system).

For you, sounds like 40mg won't cause too much trouble, try it on a saturday first or something in case it makes you unable to act normal.

well first of all swiy shouldnt listen to people that fuck chickens. Ok heres what swiy should do take a 20mg xr and split the capsule open there will be little beads in the capsule take swiys beads and down em with some water, the beads taste horrible but just do it. take another 20 mg xr and take it the right way. since swiy has a steady drip of the medication swiy has a tollerance that most people dont. So swiy is gunna have to do something a little differant. once that first xr kicks in and swiy gets that initial feels good bump up swiy is gunna need to take another 20 xr. take the third xr like the first. about half way through the day take a fourth xr. take this xr like the second xr. this will get swiy a very strong buzz. if swiy would go to school on such a fine day swiy would graduate early with honors. Not to mention you have extremely good game with the ladies.

the XR's are better they are pure amphetamine rather than those pussy ass tablets wich are just amphetamine salts all the tablets do are go away really fast and leave the rest of swiys head and body high with a temper and it makes swiy come down much swifter and also the xr dont have wax in them swim doesnt even think swiy body could digest wax fast enough to get all the medication in swiy body. Remember stay hydrated if you dont swiy will have the worst chaped lips

First off, opening the capsules and just eating the beads will do absolutely nothing different then eating them with the capsules. Its a container, nothing more.

Secondly, taking all 4 of SWIY'S pills at the same time would be a much smarter choice then taking them all throughout the day. You would be able to sleep and have a much better buzz. Adderall XR has some kind of polymer, to be politically correct, that the stomach takes about 4 hours to break down. So, SWIY would be getting 40 mg's at first and then 40 more about 4 hours later. If SWIY wanted it to last all day, personally, he would do this. If you just want the regular 4-6 hours, just crush up 2 of the things, put it in a little square of toilet paper (or the capsule, would imagine this to be a bit difficult although he has never tried it) and swallow away.

He got one thing right, make sure to stay hydrated and EAT!!! Not eating or drinking all day really fucks with your head and body and SWIY will definitely notice in the morning.

P.S. Adderall XR IS mixed amphetamine salts.
