Teeth grinding.
SWIM last took some adderall about 2 weeks ago, and he can not stop grinding his teeth. It used to only happen around night time once the adderall started wearing off and then it would be gone by the next day. But this has been going on ever since he last dosed. Is this going to be a permanent thing now? Or will it eventually go away? it really sucks and his teeth hurt alot now. Chewing gum helps but they always hurt in the morning. He can control it during the day somewhat but apparently not at night.

Re: Teeth grinding.
SWIM gets the same problem. Not nearly as long as SWIY has been experiencing it but SWIM will usually experience it for the next 24 hours after the dose has worn off. Has SWIY been consuming any amounts of caffeine or any other stimulants since his last dose? This could possibly be the problem. Even if it is a smaller dose of caffeine. SWIY could possibly take smaller amounts of a depressant to possibly relax SWIY mouth. SWIM's mouth hurts after a day of using a stimulant. He couldn't imagine how soar his mouth would be after two weeks of teeth grinding. He feels SWIY pain.

Re: Teeth grinding.
SWIM also has experienced the same problem. A few weeks ago, SWIM noticed he started grinding his teeth. This would happen after doing some Adderall and consuming cannabis. Then the problem continued for another week, but SWIM's RX ran out and the teeth grinding stopped.

Re: Teeth grinding.
When Swim does adderall, like when swim does ecstasy, uses a pacifier so that swim's teeth do not grind. But Swim knows if swim drinks caffeine soon after crashing, swim will start grinding swim's teeth. Swim would recommend to swiy to cut back on the caffeine and invest in gum and a pacifier. It sounds stupid, but it works so well.

Re: Teeth grinding.
In my squirrel deez' personal experience, and SOME friends , its not completely unusual for a drug induced behavior to 'stick' for a while. He saw this mostly where Stimulants or even LSD were a bit overdone. deez' actually stuttered for a month after goin overboard with lsd. -this is a maybe to me....
These drugs work using the brains reward system against it. For example, masochist can become addicted because the pain releases endorphins. Same goes for tasting chocolate in many people. The point being the brain SEEMS (to me) to sometimes latch onto behaviors that were happening during the peak of the reward (buzz) or simple synapsis overstimulation. *stims know that feeling, the almost buzz of excitement that happens on the site of their fav* -strong possibilty In deez oppinion. As a kinda test/not a bad idea... look up foods high in tyrosine. Eggs, fish, seeweed, etc, lists can be found online. (get non cooked items! heat breaks down alot of this when cooked) Tyrosine helps produce basic endorphines and other things.(we'll come back to that) I recently read that seritonin and dopamine tend to balance themselves. When low in one = high in the other.(1) The theory would hold that if you deplete,(yes you can over draw so to speak on ur happy chem account) your dopamine or simply run it into the ground, then the seritonin would shoot up. Zoloft, etc are reuptake inhibitors of this and have a very similar side effect. this will give a better idea....(especially first day but that could be the initial crash alot of ppl get, think of the symptoms that persisted more than 24 hours after waking up from a good rest afterwards.) drowsiness, dizziness, weakness; nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, or changes in appetite or weight; or decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm. *constantly more dehydrated...pee is much darker than normal, even after a couple days* (the above is NOT symptoms of addy OD, but of unusually high levels of seritonin hanging around in the brain) Any of that look familiar? as in you've experienced those immediately after your day of fun Has SWIY had any alchy lately? Did it seem to take longer to effect you? info info info (1) I will find a reference If someone wants to debate, sorry i dont have it on me. TOOmuchSEX added 2 Minutes and 56 Seconds later... OMG, Deez my squirrel is a moron. Can someone tell me if i'll ever earn the right to edit HIS posts? or go into chat for that matter. Deez is still getting used to double checking the writing for the first person. Can a mod delete the offending post? SWIM SWIY deez, him, her I Pretty please can i edit for poor deez? he needs to lay off the experimentation Last edited by TOOmuchSEX; 01-08-2009 at 19:14. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Yeah. Habitual. It wouldn't hurt to see a doctor just to sleep easy, but teeth grinding is sort of habit-forming anyway, and when you do it really hard and uncontrollably for a really long time it just tends to become a subconscious thing when you're stressed out or bored. I'm not even sure if grinding of the teeth is a direct result of the adderall or it is just a side-effect the brain produces in the presence of it. Either way, something like heart palpatations or the sweating/fever/hallucinations that usually accompany long-term effects from use would be much more worrisome. |
