Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
So Swiv ran out of Adderall a week and a half ago. She got super restless and just was so bored she started going batty. She began to think strange and somewhat self-harming thoughts (she was like this before Adderall too, it just seemed like it was more intense for her this time.) One day back on Adderall, and she feels like she has her life back somewhat.
She was to the point where any and everything took too long, and her patience was thin. She told her pdoc all this and he made sure she wouldn't have a gap in meds for a couple months. Has anySWIbody had this happen? Sound familiar at all? Let me know for Swiv's sake, so she can be a bit more at peace that it is finally over. She can't take the crazy restlessness and boredom again.

Re: Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
the effects described above are exactly why amphetamines have such a high abuse potential. SWIM feels this way all the time when he has no amphetamines (years at a time). It is basically drug induced depression. SWIM's experience is that this never goes away (he burnt up his dopamine recptors pretty good with lots of meth though). Continued use of amphetamines will only make this worse for SWIY, and that doctor doesn't really seem to have SWIY's best interests in mind as SWIY is obviously addicted and any doctor who cared would try to help SWIY seek an alternative that is not so damaging to SWIY. All that doctor sees is $$$$$$$

Well that sucks.
Swiv was really doing very well on the pills. Swiv used meth in the past regularly and didn't get this way. This actually helps her a lot for her treatment-resistant depression and her ADD like tendencies, but it sucks if she's just diluting herself. She may see about getting off them later for something else. Now she's kinda bummed.

Re: Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
Swim ran out of his Adderall perscription about two weeks ago and since than he has been tired as all hell, no matter how much he sleeps he is still tired. This might be because he has done LSD about 3 times since running out of the prescription, but he's not sure. Last night he fell asleep around 5pm while he was hanging out with his girlfriend and than went home and slept for 9 more hours. He's still tired as hell.
He isn't restless really, just tired. |

Re: Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
the question is, why are you running out?
if you're running out you're abusing your script. why would you not expect dependency issues from abuse? even if you don't abuse them dependency will likely present itself in some form. if you limit use to 4-5 days a week or your work week or whatever you'll find they work a lot better and those few days off will be no big deal, no depression, some significant ADHD rebound symptoms (but if it's the weekend who cares right?), as well as some restlessness. guess what, you're just gonna have to deal with it... but running out and having to take weeks at a time off is just not going to allow you to function in the real world, which is the whole point of taking the drugs in the first place. let's all be responsible here. you can also get a script for buproprion (wellbutrin) as an adjunct to the adderall. it provides more "round the clock" coverage of your symptoms and should reduce rebound. |

Re: Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
I think fatigue and restlessness are normal effects of not taking aderrall. If you want to avoid that feeling, you may want to take supplements that can help you decrease your dependency. I'd suggest supplements like Ampheta Restore (non-prescription by the way).

Ampheta restore hasn't been proven to work. SWIY might wanna check it out before using it.

Re: Ok, so how is the withdrawal? Normal experience?
Well, AFOAF who stopped taking adderall took ampheta restore and he/she said it worked for her. I guess it depends on how the person's body reacts to it? I tried taking it for my coffee dependency (I drink loads), it seems to have worked for me. No feeling of fatigue when I don't take in caffeine.
