Health - Pregnancy and Smoking

SWIM was using cocaine and SWIM found out they were pregnant and stopped immediatatly. SWIM was about 4 weeks at that point. Around 15 weeks SWIM started smoking weed(purple haze) to help with the morning sickness so SWIM could eat and keep food down. SWIM is now 20 weeks.

My question is what are the effects on SWIMS fetus and how long does it take for SWIMS system to be clean as well as SWIMS fetus????

Also SWIM hasnt smoked since 19 weeks.

Please avoid smoking while pregnant. Smoking anything, weed, tobacco, etc. can really be harmful to a developing child.

Obviously plenty of people have had children while using tobacco, alcohol and other drugs - but the risk is simply not worth the heartbreak.

Use this time to detox, to simplify, and to find an inner strength (that SWIY will greatly appreciate in the years to come.)

Talk to your doctor about nausea.

Once SWIY is done breastfeeding and are wanting to partake again - look into vaporizers - second-hand smoke is really bad for children too.

To my knowledge, the embryo up until 6 weeks gestation does not share blood/cardiovascular processes with the mother. It is very unlikely the embryo would be affected by SWIY's cocaine use.

I don't know anything about the weed aspects of it, but SWIY is doing great for giving up, keep up the good work.
I've known lots of women who haven't been able to stop, and we might not know if the baby is damaged until they get to school age.

At 20 weeks you're halfway there, the time will fly by. SWIM has used this website before, google these terms: rational recovery bullets, first result takes you to the rational recovery website. if you read through the pages [bullets] and digest them as it describes, it gives you some really useful methods on boosting willpower. SWIM's not plugging it or anything, it just did help SWIM when she had to stop drinking.
