Opinions - Advice on 40mg escitalopram?

Hello, I'm prescribed 20mg/day escitalopram (in addition to 30mg/day amphetamine), recently I accidentally took 40mg spread out over several hours, I found the anxiolytic effect that day to be far greater than 20mg, and I was in a far more positive mood for the entire day.

I'm thinking of asking my psychiatrist to increase my dose, but as I've always found to be the case with SSRI's, there are people who say that increasing the dose will make no difference..

I'm wondering if anyone here happens to take 40mg escitalopram, and whether it is worth it in the long run?

I have found similar things with escitalopram and going from 20 to 40 mg even for short periods. If your present dose isnt doing it for you its worth asking about at least. Some people do take more than the recommended dose. My doc had me on 12mg of edronax a day when the max dose is supposed to be 8 mg.
