Synesthesia

Has anyone experienced crossing of their senses? If so, was it on a
psychedelic? Which one? How many mgs? What was set and setting? When
was the onset?

Oh my, yes. It really is something else. You'd think that seeing visuals
move with music would be cool enough, but the real deal is when you
can't tell one sense from another. Once when having sex with my
wife on 2C-C, I couldn't distinguish the music from my visuals from my
tactile sensations from my emotions. I'm a sensual person, and there is a
euphoria I get from this state which is second only to that from MDMA.
But other times, this same drug hasn't been as spectacular. You can't
really predictably rely on a particular drug to produce this state, it's more
like a grace you are sometimes granted, in my opinion.

I'll bet you'll get some recommendations, though, and I guess some are
more likely than others. In my opinion, 2C compounds are pretty
sensual, and good candidates. I've found that 2C-B taken after starting
to come down from MDMA tends to produce visual/audio synesthesia
more often than not, when listening to the right music.Edited by: radiometer

i have once or twice had the experience of being able to taste the things i touch if i am thinking about it but not often. more often i can taste very strongly things im smelling but that is normal and depending howhard im rolling i can usually hear things that i see without them actually making much noise or any at all. this is normally on 2-3 e pils depending on their quality and strenghth.

yep on shroomsswim could feel the music and the colorsswim was hallucinating corresponded directly to the music. metallica's seek and destroy-from kill 'em all-was like a yellow/brown color. metallica's master of puppets gives me a burgandy/red color. could be a subconscious thing bc the master of puppets was very similar to the sky color on the frontand the color on the back of the album. very cool though. SWIM has done mild to moderate doses of shrooms but hasn't yet experienced synesthesia. First time I heard about synesthesia it was a difficult concept to wrap my mind around, anyone else?

One can say the same for almost all psychedelic effects, no? You have to
experience it to understand.

It's not just having your trip or visual space change when the music does.
It's a whole integration of things which are normally experienced
seperately, to the point that you can't tell them apart.

I have a question, now, on a close topic:

I once was in a state (on 2C-C) in which I was simultaneously
experiencing my full range of human emotions, all at the same time.
That's the best I can explain it. It was in no way negative or threatening,
rather it felt so liberating and balanced that I cried for a couple minutes
from the sheer beauty of it. If I was a person to throw around the term
"++++" I'd be tempted to use it. Has anyone else had a simliar episode,

I've had this merging of senses with many psychedelics, especially with
music-- i.e. feeling sounds, visualising sounds as colours-- right from
the first time I took acid. You can get the same with a modest trip
from most tryptamines and PEAs.

I think synaesthesia comes in varying degrees with all psychedelics, but for me complete merging of senses occurs in two particular circumstances:


2C-B and marijuana combined, give total merging of sight and sound so that I can simultaneously 'see' and hear music


4-ACO-DIPT gives total total merging of sight, sound and touch, so I can 'see', hear and also 'feel' music.


These effects only occur at the higher dose levels, say 20mg of 2C-B or 25mg of 4-ACO-DIPT.

SWIMhas experienced strong synesthesia with San Pedro Cacti, hight doeses (about 16 hours tripping) on several ocations. Mostly having an increbibly "tactile view" not only on real objects but in tracers and patterns. Also in the peak of the tripps there were no barriers between thought, action and information from the senses, acomplished by a hight loss of ego.

34mg. Further experiments with the same dose have not produced the
same result, it seems to have been a special one.

Thank you everyone! I will be conducting this experiment at Burning Man
this year. One socially acceptable way most of us cross-sense is hearing
music and dancing to it.

I've had really similar experiences on acid, and so has my girlfriend, visuals growing and getting more intense with tactile sensations, and actually hallucinating an orgasm...


synaesthesia is such an interesting phenomenon, i like to play around with it as much as i can. a friend of mine who is also psychedelically inclined has synaesthesia since birth. He sees numbers in certain colours, and even genders. we'd behanging outand he'd notice that the font on.. packaging or something is 'wrong' because the letters are all the 'wrong colours'.


Synaesthesia quest one of my own creations... find someone who is tripping and experiencing synaesthesia, play them some music, and then try and guess what colour they're seeing the music.
the 'finding a tripping person experiencing synaesthesia' part can also be made easier if you knowsome weirdowho actually suffers from the illness perpetually..
