Storing - Retaining DMT Potency

SWIM has 2 grams of DMT in tightly sealed amber containers, which was kept within another sealed glass container with silicate pads to discourage any moisture, and kept in the dark.

After 2 years, last night SWIM measured out 30mg, put it in a "Crack" pipe, and lit her up. SWIM is not exactly sure how much of the 30mg was actually imbibed, however, the main point of the story is: The DMT was still as strong as it was when it was born. Damn strong!

Does anyone have an opinion on how long the DMT will remain active when kept as described as above?

Keeping it in the fridge is not an option for a multitude of reasons.

In my chimp's experience, keeping DMT in such conditions should contribute to some serious longevity. The only concern regarding keeping it at room-temperature is that it's less likely to remain a solid, and therefore dosing/handling will become exponentially more difficult. The only improvement to the above-described environment would be to keep it in a freezer, as this would ensure that the substance remains solid.

SWIM had a small bit of DMT for his personal use at a festival which he kept wrapped in tin foil in an out side pocket of his book bag. To his dismay he sat the book bag too close to a fire one night (or atleast swim thinks, it could have just been the weather and bookbag) and the DMT had began to melt and most of it was deemed unusable by swim upon discovery. This goes to show that storing DMT properly is very important

the freezer idea is definitely a good idea, swim would say it should keep almost indefinitely

SWIM and his friends also had some DMT that had survived and retained its strength for two years. It's still knocking around somewhere, and most likely still works, another half year later (but he doesn't know exactly where it is, and they have some more now anyway). This wasn't even stored half as well as SWIDP's stuff, being only in a lidded, plastic measuring test-tube kind of thing, in a rucksack.

It had however long since turned to the paste, but in SWIM's opinion, this did not effect the strength. They definitely came to the conclusion that it stays active for a very long time (couldn't guess how long, but 2+ years certainly seems a common experience). However, the melted version is
total pain to work with compared to solid powder or larger crystals.

Anyway, SWIM has a tip if anyone else has it turned to paste, and after repeatedly scraping it, it is smeared all over the container and is hard to pick up. The success would depend on the shape of container of course. Nevertheless, they found it very useful to place the container in hot water for a while (they used a pint glass with water from the kettle). The water then heats the sides of the container which in turn heats up the DMT so that it slowly flows down and pools at the bottom. It's much easier to collect then.
