Sceletium didn't do much for me. Wild Lettuce is relaxing and dream herb does work, but it is bitter unlike anything. I can't drink more than one sip. Smoking dream herb joints is nice. Alfa |

I tried it, what realy pissed me off is what I paid for it, not so much that it didn't do shit. After paying like 30 bucks for a 1/2 oz and it was mostly seeds, I found a place where I can get it for $3.75 for 4 oz's. I gave my wife the seeds, they make a great plant in the garden, didn't even bother to harvestit, but it sure makes a hell of a lot of seeds. I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of that shit comingup this spring. BA |

Does the dream herb really makes you have direct lucid dreams?

The dream herb definately makes your dream. The taste is very bitter though so you will probably have trouble getting the stuff down. Smoking itis a good alternative. I have been interested in trying Sceletium. If you want other good stuff try any dmtcontaining plants as well as kava and kratom.

is this "calea zachatechichi" (sp?) you're talking about when you mention dream herb? VERY bitter... I am not too sure if it has influenced my dream recall in any way, but what certainly does is not smoking cannabis for some time ;-)

I have recently rediscovered my forgotten bag of sceletium tortuosum, and since I have been having trouble enjoying grass the way I used to (making me feel uncomfortable), I deciced to add a good sprinkle of sceletium into my joints, and it seems that I feel a little number and more comfy with it. I wonder if it's placebo or not. Anyone? |

Often used as a substitute for opium, Lactuca virosa does not match the power of opium nor does it upset the stomach like opium does. Commonly used as a mild sedative or hypnotic for insomnia and relaxation, it is also used for coughing, nervousness and pain relief associated with women's ailments. The greens are sometimes used in salads. Its use dates back as far as opium's use in the 16th century. The Native Americans used Lactuca Virosa as a mild relaxant and pain reliever. Though not as powerful as Opium, the whole plant is rich in a milky juice which contains opiate-like alkaloids. <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> <!-- nopopups(); //--> </SCRIPT> |

my bag is empty, gotta get ahold of some more. but it's not really cheap. found that in the vicinity of a gram or more it had a pretyt strong effect (lightheaded in a pleasant way and sort of free of worry). But smoking that much isn't fun. |

I've smoke sceletium. Very nice and mellow. Mixes well with cannabis. Lettuce opium is bunk. Dream herb I haven't tried. |

I remember when sceletium was first coming out - there were wild reviews of it being "better than e!!!" that should have clued me in right then. Honestly, it'snever done anything for me. nothing. I tried smoking it, drinking it in a tea, eating it raw....nothing. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it was from a reliable and trusted source - so I think it's just not my thing. And it was priceier than other herbals that actually did have pleasant and noticeable effects. I've always meant to get ahold of some calea - but never have. ah well. that's the sun-opener, right? |

No. Calea zacatechichi is the 'Dream Herb'. The 'Sun Opener' is Heimia salicifolia. |

The most effective way to get a good effect from sceletium is to fill
up a gelcap with the powder, and eat it. SSRI-like, mellow, and lasts a long time that way. |

use. See when I first used(3 caps) it it took 8 hours for it to work. Now its taking up to 20 hours for it to work. Yesterday I took 4 caps at 12:00Am it is now 4:12 PM I don't feel it yet. Why is it taking so long for me to feel the effects? |

Yes, that works too. You can smoke it, snort it, snuff it in the bucal mucosa like chewing tobacco, and take it orally.
Smoke, snort, snuff = quick onset and short duration of effects. Oral = longer onset, and much longer duration of effects. It seems to potentiate smoked cannabis regardless of the route of administration. |
