Health - Smoking Through Aluminium

Swim is lazy and rarely buys a gauze for smoking, tends to smoke solely pipes and tends to use aluminium foil for a gauze. Swim has heard that this is hazardous to long term health?

Swim would appreciate ones thoughts????

The myth is that smoking out of aluminum consistently for a long period of time will give you Alzheimer in the long run. Some sources have apparently disproved that and call it a myth. there is some sort of backup evidense but i doubt it makes a difference

Aluminum reacts with air to form a crust of impermeable aluminum oxide. Aluminum oxide is shiny. You can't vaporize elemental aluminum OR aluminum oxide with a lighter.

Attached is the Public Health Statement for Aluminum (from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry) from 2008. There seems to be quite a few articles out on the Interwebs about aluminum and health, but this article seems to be a good summary. Many of the articles indicate potential dangers of aluminum in deodorants and other such products.

swim always thought and have been told, That if you burn the shiny shide all of the harmful elements burn away, Swim is not sure how much truth is in that.

I may be wrong but I think the shiny side is caused by the manufactuing process.

Swim isn't sure if it's a myth. Niether aluminum or aluminum oxide can be vaporized with a regular lighter, but he still feels uncomfortable when he has to smoke with it. Swim has also heard somwhere, it may not be true, that when you heat up aluminum it forms another chemical that might cause alzhiemers.

Does anyone know how frequently someone would have to smoke with aluminum, if it did give you alzhiemers, to damage thier health? Swim uses aluminum about twice a week. Is that bad?

Swim wouldn't recommend aluminum if one really needed something to smoke out of swim would recommend an apple or soda can(still aluminum but not a harsh as foil if that's the aluminum one was talking about.

Tony too has heard this for a long time, and also wonders about cooking on aluminum (food, in an oven, mind you )

However the tiger feels that it is likely to just be a myth. He avoids aluminum and other metals as much as possible when smoking though just to be on the safe side. No point in taking unnecessary risks now.

my friends friend has been known to puncture a pop can and stuck a lil alum foil with a few holes in it to make a quick pipe. its always temporary , but when swiyou needs to smoke and there isnt any other option, what can swiyou do?? thats if swiyou is outa papers.;

if swiy are too lazy to or too poor to smoke a paper or pipe and u need to smoke alluminum swu probably shoulnt be smoking atall.
