Smoking - HELP! CFO is not smokable

HELP! CFO is not smokable

SWIM was trying to do a CFO for the first time using dried jumbo pods and after they followed all the steps in the guide everything seemed to be fine until SWIM tried to smoke it and it just turned black and hard in their glass pipe.
SWIM said it looked fine after drying. Very crystal like and amber brown. SWIM put it all back in 158F degree water and then filtered again with 4 coffee filters and after air drying with a fan it still does the same thing I'm told. Any advice for SWIM?
