hello, now you are reading the translation of my nerotic inner most sweet nothings about my condition and...the other world.

i began takeing adderall orally about a year ago off the street to self medicate a depression which I have stared in the eyes at sense the first moments after I learned how to swim out of my mother the garbage can. or atleast the last 10 years. For about 7 of those years I nurtured a opiate habbit from a fragile percocet and vicodin seed all the way to a interveignious fully matured junk in the arm, gun in the mouth, flower of self hatred untill the day I found out that I had planted a different kind of seed and I was 9 mounths or so away from fathering a human child. So I put on the big boy pants and substituted street drugs for government sanctioned 8mg buprenoriphene tablets (an opiate substitute contaneing suboxone and also the opiate antagonist naloxone) and that worked well for about the first year and a half of my daughters life. But with the wonders of tollerence I stopped slowly began to stop feeling that loveing feeling from the bueps and my depression sank back in and hard. So I began to take a roomates 20mg adderall tablets while he was sleeping or at work and I feel in love with the combination of the two drugs. It was the best 7 mounths of my life. No depression, bad side effects or any craveings for harder drugs. But once again old women tolerance screwed up my good vibrations and I could no longer afford and get a hold of enough adderall. So I talked to a doctor and today got my first script of ritallin. How will it react with my bueps? Will I enjoy the ritalin or will it fill me with anxiety and stomach aches? Please tell me a story about how this will go for me. I'm just dieing to know the scuddle butt about the what not that is my life. thank you for your time and prayers.

ritalin will probably not have the same effect as adderall... adderall is amphetamine and has like a 12-13 hour half life, so it stays in your system a lot longer, ritalin's half life is about ~4 hours.

amphetamine has a broader and more powerful spectrum of action than ritalin and was one of the first drugs prescribed for depression (dexedrine) back in the 30's. amphetamine is slightly serotonergic and acts as an MAOI (type of Anti-depressant) as well contributing to its antidepressant activity.

for some ritalin tends to have a more wirey/edgy feel to it than adderall, but a lot of people feel anti-social and shitty on amph, so it just depends. maybe you can get a legitimate script for adderall, if you can't get one for depression, ADHD is pretty easy to "fake" and a lot of dr.s will prescribe ADHD meds w/o an in-depth consultation. some dr/s seem to limitlessly escalate dosages for adhd purposes, but i'm sure that's just for people who are obviously not functioning at normal dosages.

if you can't get him to switch you to adderall then he shouldn't have any problem giving you focalin, which is like ritalin but a lot smoother and with fewer side effects (anxiety, jitteriness, palpitations, etc).

and if your depression is that bad and you can't get any other treatment options, no dr. will have a problem giving you an SSRI.

Swim who took MPH 20mg/2x daily for years began on 60mg/Adderall IR daily for a few years, taking MPH here and there in between re-ups of Adderall.

Swim's assessment is that one cannot replace Adderall with Ritalin. In fact it seems chronic adderall use destroys any benefit of ritalin if the former is taken for prolonged periods of time. Now swim experiences acute anxiety and panic attacks when taking MPH, and this has not been fixed for 3 months in the absence of Adderall. To a mild degree this is mitigated by THC which reduces tolerance but THC is no friend to swim. The same has been indicated by swim's many lab rats, who have followed a near identical pattern of use and abuse.

This is unfortunate since swim has always praised MPH and still believes in it. It is healthier than amph's, has 1000 off-label uses, it is the most researched drug of all time, and is an incredible anti-depressant/ADD med among other things. But in the end, swim can only advise: Don't switch from adderall to MPH or visa-versa. Stick with one or the other, and don't stray, and don't abuse. It has been hell for swim trying to get back on MPH. Reports forthcoming. ... whenever it starts to work again.

As for the other combinations, swim has nothing to say. Except adderall mixes well with alcohol and nicotine; MPH definitely does not, when taken orally. Also corroborated by the lab rats...
