Opinion - Greatest musician or song writer/Drug user.

Almost all my favorite bands had some kind of history of heavy drug use but my very favorite musicians with drug problems would have to have been Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon and a close second Layne Staley from Alice In Chains. Shannon Hoon Eventualy died of a cocaine overdose in 1995. Layne Staley died from a speedball in 2002. I am no christian but i believe Shannon and Layne are in some kind of better place now. Who are your favorite songwriters who have had a history of drug use.

I would say Layne Staley. He had such a powerful voice and such talent. Such a shame he wasted it
