Humidor
i was thinkin about this earlier.* If you put your buds
in a cigar humidor, would this work as well or better than putting an orange peel in the bag?* I was also wondering if you made some sort of solution of thc in liquid form and put it in a humidifier, could you inhail the vapors?** I would say a thc alcohol solution but i dont know if alcohol would create that vapor. I think a regular sealed off bag would work better, because any air circulation usually dries out the buds. Are you asking if it would work to keep moisture in, and keep your buds fresh, or what exactly are you asking about the orange peel? The only thc i have seen in liquid form was mixed with butane gas so you wouldn't want to inhale the vapors. Maybe if it was a drinkable alcohol you could just drink it, or use one of those new alcohol vaporizers? |

I assume that you want to keep your weed at a moist level, to prevent it from becomming dry and flaky. A humidor will work for this, seeing how they keep expensive cigars fresh and moist. The only thing is that the weed will be fresh and you will want to let it sit out for a few hours/a day before smoking. If you dont the weed will be damp and hard to burn. You could also go as far as to roll a few blunts and leave them in there, the wrap should stay moist. Also if you are going to weigh out buds and get rid of them to people your weight will be much higher then the break out ratio because of the added moisture. true- With the orange peal, it is a way that you can keep your weed moist, you put an orange peal in it and that will keep the moisture levels regulated. This can also be done by putting Q-TIPS in a jar. Orif you have a way to separate the weed from cotton balls you could do that, lettuce, or even just leaving a drop of water in there should help. I've built several different types of humidors and both the wood and instruments are specifically designed for TOBACCO, not weed. And don't do the orange peal in a bag, either. That's bunk meant to treat skank weed. Just dry your weed out thoroughly, roll it in a joint and put it in a dry place is good enough. The shit is like ant other organic substance; it has a shelf-life. I'ld say 8 months, max. depending on storage conditions.Edited by: Woodman |

i disagree the orange peel has served me well, you've never had good buds that were overly dry!??!?! every have some for more than a month, no matter how sticky it was to begin with it will start to dry, and the orange peel works on good buds as well as it does schwag. in my oppinion it is just a more common practice with schwag because dealers feel they need to make it "look better" "weigh over" etc. swim has smoked weed over 2 years old, and can agree with the shelf life thing......it was blueberry and it didnt catch swim a buzz..... however swim has smoked hash that was years old and definatly felt effects....so go figure lol. p.s. swim prefers a chunk of white bread because it does not alter the smell |

i like to moisten my stuff because 99% of the time around here, the
weed comes to you overly dry and burns pretty fast and harsh. I find the orange peel definatly slows the burn and makes the smoke smoother. I just thought that perhaps a humidor would work with weed as well as tobacco. Your probably right though, just a thought i had. Edited by: korky8097 |

but dosent a humidor keep the humidity of the contents at XX humidity, something like 80%, true it's not going to be great straight out of the box, but let it dry and it will be like anything else. And hell if it dosent stay moist, then break it all up and leave it in there broken up..

Re: humidor
Hey back the train up here. Under no circumstances should you EVER add any orange peels, lemon peels etc. to your bud for storage. This can introduce Penicillium or Aspergillus spp. into the stored marijuana and under no circumstances should this be consumed. I know this thread is old but thought it was worth mentioning.
