Waking Life (2002)

A cartoon-esque movie, but not quite yet. Has anybody seen it here?

SWIM found it remarkably insightful, especially if you are high on hashish or weed, SWIM will try it tripping some day. A real recommendation.

I was just watching it for the first time not ten minutes ago! Only got
about 15 minutes into it, too much to do today, but I liked it a lot. The
opening dream sequence is mesmerizing.

if you found the conversations insightful and entertaining, than I recommend you try his other movies 'before sunrise and before sunset' their filmed in beautiful locations and filled with conversations that feel important and meaningful.. in Fact, waking life features the two characters in a cameo in bed talking.. its really a great movie as well

Yeah, this movie is awesome to watch straight or messed up. Very cool,
very arty (meaning not for everyone) but still worth renting.

Re: Waking Life (2002)

Does anyone find the visual aesthetic used in this film to be very similar to the OEVs from mid-dose 2C-halogens?

Re: Waking Life - Trailer

This movie is what started my interest in philosophy and spirituality, it got me thinking and really saved me from the path I was going down. This movie also affected my friend Pink in the same way and coincidentally conceited with the start of his psychedelic usage.

This was followed by what the bleep do we know, then countless hours of internet research on may different subjects. I am the person I am today partially because of this movie. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Re: Waking Life (2002)

I think it's a great movie. I think my favourite part is when they talk about the telescoping of time. I can't remember the details but somehow the same advancement that once took 10,000 years then took 1,000 years, 100 years, 10 years, a year, a month etc.! The idea of this geometric progression telescoping down to a point is neat, it's an analogue of (one of) Zeno's paradox(es). Can anyone remember the details better, or will I have to dig out a copy of the film?

That's really interesting N0ly as i had the exact same experience. I really started out reading McKenna, leary, ram dass, huxley, etc. after watching this movie i went directly to what the bleep do we know. can't say that it coincided with the start of any psychedelic usage by my lab mice but it definitely changed the type of experience they had. And much for the good.

Great movie that will leave you thinking about life and existence, if that's what you want to do.

Just bought it online, along with Scanner Darkly, an equally trippy film film, although scary trippy so SWIM wont watch it on anything other that weed.
