Addiction - SWIM did an 8th in 2 hours...

SWIM started using cocaine about 3 years ago, it was the Office Xmas party and a mate of SWIM had some... SWIM was curious to try it and he offered SWIM a key.

For the next 2 years and 9 months SWIM's drug use was very occasional and recreational.

This all changed 3 months ago when SWIM's Mum died... Swim has been out partying and doing on average an 8th a night... about 3 nights a week.

Since Thursday (2 days ago) SWIM has gone through over 1/2 an ounce of Cola.

Tonight, SWIM is at home and has just snorted an 8th In 2 hours. SWIM only got about 6 lines out of it. They were huge.

SWIM feels great at the moment. But swim is now going out drinking soon.

SWIM has decided not to do Cola anymore. SWIM knows the next week is going to be hard for him.

SWIM thinks he has a very serious problem, and just needed to vent a little.

SWIM is sorry to heard about SWIY mum. SWIM knows what SWIY is going
through. But SWIM doesnt think it is healthy for SWIY to bury SWIY head in
the sand..OR THE SNOW!!

Try and talk to someone close to SWIY about your bereavement and let
SWIY feelings come out. SWIM knows this isnt going to be easy but its better
than turning into a complete coke head and losing SWIY job,home,friends etc.

As for the coke, if it really has got a hold on SWIM then go to the GP and ask
for help and try and go to a local rehab. Easier said than done SWIM knows.

Are you saying that this addiction sprouted from the tragedy of your mother's death? Question your own motives because, well think about it. If you want to party and get high that's one thing, but if you want to do it to get away from pain, you've found yourself in a pickle. Using a crutch can only help you temporarily and eventually it will lead to more problems as you have found out. If you think about it, using drugs to escape pain is actually a pretty selfish thing to do. You're only benefitting from the time you do a line until the time you come down. After that, you're down a hundred bucks and you only want more. Instead of trying to work around the pain, just cope with it. You can't avoid problems forever.

Just ask yourself, "Is it worth it?". You know the answer, but it takes real balls to believe yourself.
