Amphetamine Tolerance

SWIM has been using amphetamine for around 3 months now mainly to study for exams at around a week and 1/2 intervals to avoid addiction and tolerance. As far as addiction is concerned mission accomplished

but he has developed the mother of all tolerance and he now finds himself having to use 3-4 times more to achieve any effect at all. Is it normal to develop tolerance so rapidly and how long does one have to abstain from taking amphetamine for the tolerance to disapear
