Addiction - heroin battles

swim has noticed that when swim is in the chemist or whatever, the people queuing for their meth, seem to talk aloud that they are still on the smack and dont really care that other people can hear them. Now dont get swim wrong, there are dedicated ones that take one and only drug.....their methadone. Why is it that when people get put on methadone programmes in order to get clean they still use heroin. Isnt methadone supposed to take the edge of withdrawals and cravings?

maybe swim is asking a daft question? is it all to do with willpower or is it just an extra hit?

why do they ask to go on methadone programmes if they dont wanna quit?

I know people who have been caught shoplifting or woteva get put on these programmes or drug testing orders but swim is a little confused over this

And before people say or think "she doesnt take smack so how is she gonna understand or she doesnt have a clue" Dont coz swim is only starting a little discussion here and it is a general wonderment of hers.
