Why is Ice-o-lated pod putty so much stronger?

Someone I met once made pod putty/flakes with a usual tea dose(3-5 pods) just to try out the Ice-o-lator method and see what results came from it.

He noticed that when it was done he ended up with a good deal of black hard tar like substance(let it over cook a bit) which produced a MUCH stronger itchyness and euphoria then he would of gotten if he just drank tea made with the same pods.

All he did was dissolve the reddish brown/black tar in some grapefruit juice and chugged it down since it wasn't quite smokable. Why would this be stronger? You would think that drinking that same tea liquid would have more goodies in it then some ice-o-lated liquid since some is lost in the process, but that wasn't the case.

Is there any science behind why it produces a stronger euphoria then just drinking tea? I am talking about the same exact amount of pods he usually uses for tea, so it's not that he is consuming more pods easily or anything like that. I figured that the reason people liked putty was because they could eat more of it then they would be able to drink as a tea but there seems to be more to it.

BTW he didn't use any special chemicals or ph adjusting so that isn't the reason either.

Thanks!
