Pharmacology - stopping mirtazapine, starting trazodone

I have a question I would love answering.
Y saw his doctor today.
He had a bad experience with mirtazapine.
He took 15mg daily and got suicidal feelings (not acts) and self harmed slightly, but he is safe.
The doctor thought he wasnt coping with the mirtys, so changed him onto trazodone.
Y took his last half a mirty last night.
He got home, from the doctors today, and he cannot remember, for the life of him, when the doctor said he should start his trazodone.
Y needed a few other scrips for different things.
He dosent know if he should wait a week
Should he start tonight
Should he wait a few days, and take none, if so how many days, before he takes his trazodone.

Y had some other issues at the docs so this is why he forgot.

So, guys, I would like to know when I can begin my course of trazodone.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but happy to know that you are getting better.

I would imagine he would have you take it the night you get it filled(it'll probably knock you out for the first few weeks, common off-label use is as a sleeping pill), but I'm not a doctor or pharmacist.

The safest option is to call your doctor or ask a pharmacist.
