Addict to cocaine.

Hi, all. I'm new to this kind of forum thing but a friend of a friend was really badly into Cocaine and I'm talking literally about five grammes per day. He then focused on something else and stopped moving in the same circle of friends and after three months is still sniffing but only at the weekend - about two grammes. I know that this still isn't good but its a good start. Anyone know anyone similar?

Re: Addict to cocaine.

Actually SWIM's mom is also addicted to Cocaine and alcohol. They need a clean circle of friends, most of all, along with steady support from someone who doesn't indulge. SWIyour poor friend's nostrils must be really beat up, SWIMs mom still wouldn't be able to tell if there was a fire in the next room due to her olfactory nerve(s).

The bad thing about Coke is that it goes straight to anyone's heart tissue, and after prolonged use those tissues not only "need" it, but are also weakened at the same time.

SWIM doesn't personally have any problems with this stuff (never liked it), but had friends who slammed it for the rush. People change a lot when they do hard drugs, help them realize who they were or could be. ^_^

Good luck,
Much love-

Re: Addict to cocaine.

Re: Addict to cocaine.

If they're addicted there is no moderation, just momentary control.
But that doesn't usually last.
As soon as a crisis comes along (and addicts are wonderful at creating these) their drug use will increase.
If they'd never has an addiction, weekend use would be ok, but once they get a habit, you're enabling them by ok-ing their occasional use.
Sorry to have to say that, but it's true.
Its so difficult to know what to do, and it's good to support your friend, but they need to be looking at stopping, not trying to control something that's already become a problem.
As HGurl has said, they possibly have health issues to deal with, maybe getting them to focus on this might help. Read what Iknowhatumean has said, they're fighting addiction to this drug, it's not nice. But they're still doing it.
You're an awesome friend, but don't forget about you in all of this. Make sure you're not wiped out by your friends addiction, so many caring people are. And all because they wanted to help.
Hope things improve.
Sparky.

what sparkles said there, is SO true.. there are 2 generaly types of drug users

some people can do it sometimes and be fine

the other.. and i noticed MOST of them , atleast what swim noticed, develope a habitual use and chase the high you know?

eventually leading to killing the cravings, if you start to fall in THIS path, if you keep going it only gets worse, (im not saying of course that its ALWAYS like this, but yea) the best thing to do is stop

sorry what i said isn't to comforting but its my pesimistic belief, and well swim is falling into the bad path.. only getting deeper, if swim continues that is, swim doesn't plan on going deeper

sorry for my rant..

Good point about how it becomes a habit for most people. Honesty isn't pessimism it's harm reduction.

Re: Addict to cocaine.

SWIM has been free for 4 months by personal choice. SWIM used to take up to 7g's a week. SWIM would stay up for days continually doing it. SWIM used to know someone who sold, and the availability was there. That was the hardest part. SWIM made a decision. SWIM was at the verge of letting the drug take over completely. SWIM would walk around paranoid all the time. It got really bad. SWIM took a stand though. SWIM is still around friends who sell, but hasn't nor won't be swayed again. SWIM still thinks about it from time to time, but he knows the risks far outweigh the "short reward".
