Re: Valium and Alcohol
Maybe you could care about the rules regarding self-incrimination? I suggest you read them:
http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/ann...t.php?f=43&a=1 The rules are taken very seriously and are enforced. Thank you. |

Now really children please. There is a saying round here, well more of a name. That is- them two chemicals combined are called a 'chargesheet'.Alcohol and any sedatives, especially benzodiazapines( which are hypnotics) cause serious memory problems and when youre taking both drugs you may be smoking weed aswell or mixing it with other downers. Not good. I don't wanna preach but in all 16 years of swims drug experience on the street, this is the worst combination.Mix large quantaties of theese two drugs and you will get arrested for doing something you have absolutely no recollection of 24hrs later.

Re: Diazepam and Alcohol
Both alcohol and diazepam appear to be GABA (sub A) receptor agonists, though the precise binding site through which alcohol exerts its effects have yet to be elucidated, to the best of my knowledge.
The GABA(sub A) receptor control a chloride ion channel, and its activation results in an influx of chloride in the post synaptic neuron, hyperpolarizing the membrane potential. Thus, activation of the GABA (sub A) receptor has an inhibitory effect on neurons--suppressing the firing of action potentials. Concerted administration of benzodiazepines and alcohol appears to mediate a synergistic effect, resulting in far greater depression of central nervous system activity. Because of the synergistic effect, it is very difficult to anticipate the effects that these drugs will render in combination, and such a concoction is not advised. Not only will this likely result in greater confusion and memory difficulties, but the combination will yield increased risk of respiratory depression and other adverse side effects. Re: Diazepam and Alcohol
Excessive alcohol consumption often causes people to do things they otherwise would never think of, do not remember, and/or feel like a total ass in the morning. Or worse, they actually cause harm to another person when normally they would never think of such a thing... benzos + booze justs makes all of thee above much more probable, and likely to a greater extent. Of all the "harm-reduction" there is, most is directly related to the effects the chemical(s) you are putting into your body, whereas with benzos I would be more concerned about are the things that the person may do while really having no clue what they are doing, yet still posessing motor function.
Unless one can be VERY moderate, experienced enough to know if they can, this is no good. |

Re: Benzodiazepines and Alcohol
Alcohol and benzodiazepines is really not such a good idea.Swim found this the hard way lastnight with lorazepam, wine, and whiskey.Swim was fucked up alright,as in stumbling into every wall possible on a tour through the house. Then swim made the worst mistake and got in the shower.Things got really horrid and swim had to vomit.Well after vomiting swim decided it would be a good idea to get in the shower.Bad move!Swim sort of collapsed to the floor of the shower and began vomiting uncontrollably. After that it is all abit of a blur. Atleast it appears swim did have the good sense to get in bed.

Re: Benzodiazepines and Alcohol
SWIM finds alprazolam to be the most potent benzo for me. When SWIM was younger anything over 2mg would cause blackouts combined with a few beers/shots. Now SWIM drinks about 10-12 oz of vodka a night along with .5mg of xanax, and then .5 at bed time. SWIM can take 3-4mg at once and it will just increase the sedation with the alcohol, won't knock SWIM out. These two drugs together can shutdown the respritory system so be careful

Re: Benzodiazepines and Alcohol
In my parrot's experience, a moderate dose of xanax
2mg) and a moderate amount of alcohol 2 units) and a moderate amount of weed is a great combination. However, it does appear to be very easy to slip into a negative experience if there is too much of the xanax or alcohol. Modest moderation in all 3 doses here makes for a win for me.
