Beta-blockers and Ayahuasca/Yopo/Cebil

Does anybody have any information or experiences to share regarding the interactions of beta-blockers like atenolol with ayahuasca, yopo, or cebil? Most specifically, yopo or cebil.

SWIShiva has avoided going deeper into the realm of bufotenine containing preparations because of the sensation of pressure in the skull and the darkly flushed complexion that results from their intranasal administration. They don't have high blood pressure and are in fairly good physical condition, but the feeling persists that blood pressure spikes are inherently unhealthy.

Thus, they are interested in using atenolol or other beta-blockers to attenuate the rise in blood pressure produced by peripheral binding of 5-OH-DMT. Little information is available on this combination, so herein lies a call for reports. Muchas gracias

Well? It's been awhile, does anybody have any speculation? Opinions? Do you think this thread should be deleted? Are you interested in this information at all? Not at all?

Re: Beta-blockers and Ayahuasca/Yopo/Cebil

Interesting line of thought.

SWIM is not a doctor, but SWIM is taking metoprolol (100mg sid), lisinopril (10mg sid) and hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg sid).

SWIM's experiences on amphetamines and mephedrone/methylone are markedly less hypertensive. Obviously SWIM is not advocating SWIY duplicate this regimen.

SWIM hopes that helps. SWIM is sure there are others more versed in pharmacology that can give a more informed answer.

Over and out
