enzyme re-activation
swim is not entirely sure if this is the correct term, but hey here goes
the way swim understands it codeine has the effect by bonding/reacting with certain enzymes in the liver, and there is only so much can be processed by these enzymes cos there is only so much (hence the roof effect of near 400mg) so the question is, how long does it take for the enzymes to re-activate or whatever the correct term for it is ? are we talking days ? or hours ? just curious if anyone knows |

Re: enzyme re-activation
It'll likely vary from person to person, especially with codeine. Enzyme activity of the kind that converts codeine into morphine can vary even in the same person from time to time, never mind in different people.
Swim can only speak for himself, he can get a high from another dose after about 8 hours, but the longer he waits, the better it will be. The enzymes probably start to "reactivate" as soon as all the codeine is either converted, or wasted, after a few hours. For swim at least, it seems to be a few days until all of them are back online again. |
