Getting lost in Music.

Do you ever turn on those tunes and almost get lost in the song your listening to? I always listen to "Tweeter and the Monkey Man" and just really get caught up in the song. I'm sure some of you have similar stories to tell.

Re: Getting lost in Music.

Yes, Swivy does this, even while stone cold sober. Music has this way of sucking Swiv in and acts as a drug all on its own sometimes. She especially gets sucked in when she hears something she hasn't heard in a long time and it's a song she has deep emotional connections to and memories it drudges up. It can be a real trip!

Re: Getting lost in Music.

Absolutely, sometimes the feeling swim gets from being engulfed in music can be near euphoric. Music can directly affect swim's mood, make him laugh, cry, or be angry. Sometimes people tell swim that he takes music too seriously and that it isn't all that important. Swim just tells them that they must be listening to the wrong music.

Re: Getting lost in Music.

Some songs are just so perfectly composed that they are like a drug in and of themselves.

  • Octopus's Garden by The Beatles - This song will genuinely make you feel like you are tripping underwater with an octopus.
  • Kashmir by Led Zeppelin - This song tends to teleport you to a far away desert land!
  • Riders on the Storm by The Doors - This one will make you feel like a rider on the storm, the title is no lie.
  • Soothersayer by The Mars Volta - This song can take you to a realm that SWIM will not even attempt to describe with the English language.
Yea these are just a few that SWIM has listened to too many damn times.

Re: Getting lost in Music.

I listen to a whole lot of music, varies from old skool instrumentals to new age commercial bullshit

Most of all i like to listen to reggae (80's) and rap (80-90's) and disco/rock/funk/house (late 70-80 early 90's)

But lately there have been a lot of nice beats flying around, with crap vocals but it really doesn't matters, i can think those vocals away.
