Pharmacology - promethazine codeine seperation

Swim was wondering about the seperation of codeine from promethazine in cough syrup form. Swim doesn't know much about chemistry so laymens terms would help.

Why would you want to do that? Promethazine is a great addition w/codeine. It prevents nausea from the codeine and also potentiates its effects. In other words, it makes it stronger. A win/win in my book.

Well to swim the promethazine just made him really tired and fall asleep. He didn't experience the usual euphoria he gets from codeine alone. Swim has heard it mentioned somewhere before that an acid base extraction could possibly work. He was curious if there were any mad scientist swims out there who could maybe weigh in.

swim swears by promethazine as hes a recreational heroin user and gets sick due to the intensity otherwise. swim likes the drowsiness it helps you gouge out, does every one say that or is it a regonal colloquialism, either way its to like pass out but not really like the skag version of a k hole, you dont notice your self go into it and you can easy come out of it if disturbed. speaking of ketamine, swim finds promethazine stops him being sick when he does heroin with ketamine (a messy mix but rather fun) and when he drink alcohol with ketamine (an equally messy mix)
