Converting Melatonin to a psychedelic tryptamine?

Melatonin is N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine. Could it be possible to convert it to another tryptamine, possibly a psychedelic one? 5-Methoxytryptamine is shown to be synthesized from Melatonin in small quantities in vivo, and I also know this substance is used as a precursor.

Any thoughts on how one could use Melatonin as a precursor for another tryptamine? Or possibly reduce Melatonin to 5-Methoxytryptamine?
