Difficult trip
Swim has tripped on acid once before and after a thoroughly enjoyable time, he decided to trip again with the same friends. Swim dropped one tab
The trip was going well, strong visuals, euphoric feeling and good conversation, until around the 6 hour mark, where Swim had become paranoid that he was being watched, and the woods he was in had become dark. Swim thought he was bringing the mood of the trip down and started shying away from conversation, this sudden turn in the trip scared Swim and he began to panic. After two minutes of anxiety Swim just began to let the trip ride out. He was becoming annoyed when his friends questioned him and kept thinking he had upset them. Swim struggled on for another two hours. It felt like he was going underwater and then just before he panicked he surfaced for 15 minutes then dived under again. Then suddenly he just didn't dive down again and began to converse and took control of himself. Swim found the experience fascinating, but also unsettling. In the morning he felt mixed up and confused, but now after jamming on his guitar reflecting he feels a little more clear in the direction in which to take his life.

Re: Difficult trip
Its not uncommon to have a bad trip swim had both good, bad and one very bad (he took a beating while on LSD) Also friend asking are you alright ? Have we upset you ? is everything OK with you ? Etc.. Isn't helping at least in swims case... (even with large amounts of MDMA taken over a few days without sleep)
And confusion after a bad trip is also common to swim.. He found it hard to tell reality from not reality... If swiy knows what swim means ? Also keep in mined that LSD is a very strong mined altering drug and some people stay in a bad trip.. So its always wise to learn something from a (bad) trip. And let the lesson be of help when swiy trips next. |

None of that concerns the OP, however, as it seems he had a 'regular' bad trip which is no way near so problematic. Swim has had one as well and he advises laying off psychedelics (including cannabis) for a while and doing some nice relaxing peaceful stuff and also some something stimulating and creative and generally enjoying yourself for a while. "Swim found the experience fascinating, but also unsettling." - Swiy knows the true meaning of the word psychedelic ! |

Re: Difficult trip
Ill take the advice, Swim will be spending a lot more time studying music, and with his girlfriend. How long would Swim advise not using cannabis for, as Swim is quite a regular smoker. Swim doesn't really use any other type of drug anymore.
Swim is glad he ventured into the world of psychedelics. |

Re: Difficult trip
[QUOTE=Joe-(5-HTP);618156]Although people are often changed by the LSD experience it is incorrect to say that some people 'stay in a bad trip'. They may develop short term psychosis, have a latent psychological condition surface or develop PTSD but they will not 'stay in a bad trip'.
None of that concerns the OP, however, as it seems he had a 'regular' bad trip which is no way near so problematic. Swim has had one as well and he advises laying off psychedelics (including cannabis) for a while and doing Swim didn't mean to say that that someone with a bad trip would like be crazy for life... But more on the lines of needing medical treatment. Which swim thought he might have needed after his beating on LSD (trip from hell) But there are reports of people stying in a (bad) trip for years or the rest of there lives not sure if this is true. Swim knows that someone can already be schizophrenic and it doesn't show the symptoms yet and after something (traumatic) happening it comes out... Like after taking LSD or a family member dying, a divorce or even giving birth or anything could trigger it of.. And itr could be blamed on a bad trip, even it was already waiting to happen... Sorry something got mixed up when I tried to reply to Joe-(5-HTP) post with his quote in it. And my dog now havently medicated and can't fix it. Sorry will try tomorrow. dog to drowsy now..... Re: Difficult trip
On my towel's very first trip, he started to get into a difficult situation. He had in fact taken too much - he'd done the classic rookie mistake of taking some, getting little effects, and then taking more (in his defence, he knew about that phenomenon, and had waited some 2.5 hours since the first tab to decide not much was happening and take a second - of course within minutes, lots started happening..)
Anyway, he was sitting in a room full of people, but a little back from them. He started to be quite unsure of exactly what was going on - were people talking to him? Was he talking to them? The feeling of not being at all certain what was actually happening - and the implication that therefore *anything* might be happening, including bad stuff - was extremely panicing and he started to say "help.. help" but very quietly. It took a few minutes for his friends to notice that he was in distress. At this point, the acid guru of the group (the one who had supplied the acid) came over and sat with my towel, and then told him the single best piece of advice he's ever heard for those taking acid: "Remember, you're on acid." In other words, never forget that you're on acid and then when anything becomes too much, too weird, frightening or confusing, just remind yourself "it's OK - I'm on acid!" The realisation that whatever it is that seems to be happening is probably just because you're on acid should help to put you at ease. On that first trip, my towel was having a good time again within minutes - giggling to himself "I'm on acid! I'M ON ACID!!!" and suddenly noticing all the amazing things around him he'd missed because he'd been freaking out. And it helped him on several other future trips that threatened to turn bad, including one time he was lying on his bedroom floor pretty certain he was dead. After a little bit he remembered: "I'm not dead. I'm on acid!" |
