Green Tea is helping SWIM stay sober.
Hi, SWIM is currently a recovering chronic multiple drug user. He has experimented with various pharms, OTC highs, and herbal highs. On top of this, he was also a habitual user of alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, and caffeine. At a certain point his connections and most of his funding were cut off and he no longer had anything fun to screw around with, so he started to drink and smoke more, and eventually had a near crippling alcoholic binge and is now doing everything in his power to stay psychoactively grounded for the time being. He had a lot of fun doing what he was doing but I think he pushed it just a little too far, on top of the fact that his neurochemistry wasn't the most stable to begin with. So long story short he's trying to make up for a lot of wasted time and money and get his life straightened out again.
He has currently been sober for 20+ days and is hoping he can keep it up. He's found numerous things that have helped him keep his withdrawal under control, the most helpful of which has been Green Tea. Not the cheap garbage sold in supermarkets. Whole leaf green tea, brewed the way it's meant to be brewed, with full theanine and antioxidant content. Currently it is the ONLY thing that has allowed him to feel somewhat normal and in control. He knows that green tea itself is also a drug in a certain sense, and can be addictive, but he thinks he'd rather be dependent on it for the rest of his life than have to go back to the chaos that was his recent life of substance abuse.
Has anyone else ever found Green Tea to be useful for controlling any type of addiction?
