Question Do SSRI's intensify Diphenhydramine's effects?
SWIM is on a low dose of Celexa(Anti-depressant; SSRI) (10mg daily) & was wondering if SSRI's intensify diphenhydramine's effects?

From what SWIM can find from online sources, Diphenhydramine is a type of SSRI itself, and so it shouldn't be intensified by an additional SSRI. SWIM cannot speak from personal experience but he recommends that SWIY be careful mixing Diphenhydramine with anything that might cause a potentially harmful interaction. Diphenhydramine is a cheap enough substance that SWIY should just be able to take more of the substance instead of trying to potentiate it with a unknown and potentially harmful combination.
