My iguana has a question for some of the experienced pupils of Sally.
Iguana gets uncomfortable feelings of slight pain shooting down his arms and legs shortly after smoking 1-hit of low extract salvia. Sometimes it feels more like a subdermal pulling of the skin in a single, focused line running down each appendage, and other times it is just the 'pins and needles' feeling of Parasthesia. It seems to get more pronounced each time (has tried it 3 times now on 3 different occasions).
I have researched much on this subject, including the scientific article published by D.Siebert et al, stating that Salvinorin A does have vasoconstriction properties. In my limited knowledge of biochemistry, this seems to explain why the blood pressure goes up, because the blood vessels are all constricting, getting smaller. This also might explain the heavy, almost 'Burst'-like sweating, due to the intense spike in blood pressure.
I have also watched a very informative documentary, "Sacred Weeds", which depicts Daniel Siebert smoking some salvia. They monitor his blood pressure going up to 190/106, which is pretty freaking high considering he looks to be in fairly decent health and is not in any way obese.
Sorry for rambling, my question to the experienced salvia students is this: How many of SWIY's experience any of the aforementioned affects?
Does it every diminish, or does it actually increase with frequency of use? I know many take much higher extract hits and to my knowledge have never read of an incident of a salvia-induced heart attack. So, either my Iguana has unique physiology, or this is normal and he should not worry.
To be honest, my Iguana is somewhat afraid of further experimentation, as he does not want to have any complications from emergency-hypertension (damage to capillaries in eyes, brain, etc). I know that everyone says salvinorin is safe, and that no one has ever died from it. Still, with his experiences, I am forced to call upon any help this forum has to offer.
