Vaporizing - What's wrong?

This cat has some brown tar like opium and an "ice pipe". He puts a match size piece in the pipe and heats her up. The O gets hot and smokes a little bit. He takes a bunch of rips but does not feel much. His question is, is the O suppose to puddle? He is using a lighter and thinks that it does not get hot enough. Should he use a torch? Thanks

swiy should use a weed or tobacco pipe with a screen. swim isn't sure, but opium needs a direct flame in order to smoke it.
