Question about sleep and lsd

If someone takes 2 hits of blotter, and the inital effects took about 3 hours to come on. but that person has not slept in 5 days is there anything that they can do to get to sleep aside from nyquil and similar things like that?

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

My cat always found that after taking LSD he felt like he had to "learn to fall asleep" again. Your post mightybright is a bit unclear. Did someone take LSD and then not sleep for 5 nights, or did someone not sleep for 5 nights and then take LSD. If the latter case, what caused the sleep-deprivation?

It would be helpful to have some more information before answering this question. Do you normally sleep well for instance? Are you incredibly tired but not able to fall asleep? etc.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

apologies, no my g/f took it, and hasnt slept sence she took it. she says she basically just lays there all night, and when she closes then opens her eyes she has very mild hallucinations.
she normally sleeps quite well and she says her body is physically tired. but her mind is still stimulated i guess to the point where she just cant sleep. getting kinda worried about it. ive tried to talk her into going to the dr but shes refusing to do so. any suggestions?

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

Nyquil or a couple xanax. Nothing extravagant though. Dont take alot, but those two usually knock me right out.

SWIM doubts very much that it was LSD if the initial effects took 3 hours to kick in. LSD can start to kick in within 15minutes of taking it, and you should definitely be peaking by the 3 hour point. Although everyone is different but still 3 hours is ages and ages. Sounds a lot more like a DOx or bromodragonfly to SWIM, both are potent enough to fit on blotter. SWIM has done bromo and DOI and both took around that time to properly start feeling it and both lasted for around 30hours or so with a further 12hours+ of not being able to sleep. How long did the trip last?

SWIM finds benzos are good for getting to sleep. 40mg of valium or 3mg of xanax with a few spliffs is usually more than sufficient for SWIM to get to sleep. Melatonin and valerian work pretty well too.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

Swim usualy drinks lots of alchol if no narcotics can be found.
This is probably the best and only way to goto sleep.
It works for swim.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

Meditation while on lsd can help you sleep, sometimes almost instantly. But usually only after at least 6 hours have passed. That may not work quite as well if swiy's girlfriend hasn't slept five days after lsd consumption, but it may still help.

Xanax (a small amount) or perhaps even just Tylenol PM could help out a lot.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

Leary once wrote a book based on the tibetan book of the dead (the psychedelic experience? )
In part it deals with turning off your brain during a bad trip, but the turtle found the information very useful for sleeping on LSD. He never again had a problem sleeping once the peak was passed.

Interesting, I'll have to check that out. Books are always very interesting to read about and to learn from.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

No way what the OP took was LSD. Effects normally hit in under an hour, but close to it, and the peak hits by T1:30 and lasts for a couple hours. By hour 5-8 one should be adapting to life while tripping, and by hour 10-13 be starting to sober up to completely sober. After 12+hrs, sleep just happens. If you're up any longer than that it sounds like a DOx compound, which takes 2-3hrs to kick in, and 18hr after injestion to be sober. Sleep though isn't going to happen for a while after that. It ranges from person to person but it's almost guaranteed you won't sleep that night, and possibly still be speeding into the next day.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

This may sound very unorthodox, but was recommended to SWIM when he had trouble sleeping; this is a hypnosis recording that wasn't designed to send the listener to sleep, but it has NEVER failed in sending me to sleep.

The recording is called Isabella valentine - Jackpot and is available on plenty of torrent sites.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

Swim had a similar experience when he first started taking LSD, but Swim is Bipolar, and wasn't medicated at the time...the LSD triggered a hypo-manic episode, then after taking it again two more weekends in a row, he entered into a full blown manic episode, sought medication, and has taken LSD 4 more times (and many other psychedelics countless other times) since adjusting to his medication, Seroquel, with no further problems. The LSD may be bringing out symptoms of an underlying condition in your girlfriend. If the problem persists, or recurs, it may be necessary to talk to a doctor.

Re: Question about sleep and lsd

sounds like a DOx to swim...3 hours to kick in and 3 or more days of mild hallucianations..maybe bromo dragonfly or doc.make a search for them and you'll understand!!
