The effect of body weight?
So I was talking to my towel the other day, and he had a question about the impact of body weight on the effects of heroin and the resulting dosages required.
My towel weighs nearly 300 pounds/130kg (pretty big for a towel; he must be waterlogged), and is wondering to what extent that affects opiates. Many medical doses are quoted in X milligrams / Y kg of body weight, and he's fairly sure he's seen opiate doses quoted that way too.
So does it follow that his obesity means he is getting less out of dope?
He's only done heroin once so far. Well, he bought one 0.4 bag of UK brown, which he chased, and that lasted him 4 days of fairly light usage - he did hits on perhaps 4 or 5 occasions on each day, covering a period of maybe 6 hours per day. (each 'hit' was actually a 10 minute smoking session, but he knows his smoking technique sucks so quite a lot of smoke got wasted, and he thinks he over heated the dope for much of the time,)
He did get some nice stoning effects, and some fairly intense waking dreams when he tried to sleep, but not really any euphoria - he didn't feel nearly as wasted/happy as he has done in the past off a good ecstasy pill, for example. A few times he felt a smile creeping, but certainly no amazing "wow!" feeling, as he had been expecting/hoping for.
Now, he didn't really hammer it hard, he knows he wasted quite a lot by being new to chasing, and maybe the dope quality wasn't great. But he's also wondering if his weight was a factor, and whether he's always going to get less out of it until he sheds some of those pounds.
Does it work like that?
