Purity - Is brown/red/orange color bad shit?

Some people say it should always be white, when burned, and when cooled. Is this correct?

Well, any colours mean impurities, and there is no exact way of telling what those are (for anyone without very expensive analysis equipment and mean chemistry skills). So it could mean bad. However, not necessarily as it could be very pure in the sense of un-cut, with minor colour left over from the cook.

Better off not taking it if swiy isn't sure about it, but really anything swiys get comes off the street anyway so you can never really know about quality.

SWIM = someone who is not me, SWIY = someone who is not you.

It is a practice which is part of the rules to follow on this forum to avoid admitting any illegal acts, and hence to attract less attention from law enforcement. Note that you don't have to say swim specifically, you could talk about a dream, or an animal you met, or anything else really, as long as you don't admit doing something illegal. (Grey-area drugs and drugs which are illegal in some places but not others count for everyone).

Swiv, when she used to smoke meth, got it in an assortment of lovely colors. Light rust, white, pinkish, yellow, light brown and the weirdest was blue. All of 'em were meth. All of 'em smoked the same and all of them worked. Swiv heard that the colors were just the impurities and/or due to the crap it was cut with/made with.

So what would make it blue? Swivy once had blue meth. It was a ligh blue as a solid and a deeper blue when a liquid. What was that about?

Thanks! Maybe I could ask you about the strongest % amphetamine ever can have...? Freebase as well as sulphate.... I have heard 82% sulphate and 96% freebase, is that true??

It can be 99.8% of purity but only in pharmaceutic laboratories , but in home labs it will be reneged from 10%-80%

Ok... I suppose this from pharmaceutic labs is full dried sulphate? If, which I believe, they have suceed drying pasta without loosing strength...

the illegal, they say to me that the 82% pasta is loosing as much as down to 40% when drying from pasta to dried sulphate.... this is very much... might it simply be that the all the amphetamine-oil hasn't been sulphated by the H2SO4 and subsequently dry away?

Swivy was not so cautious in her meth days. She was on mars most of the time, so she didn't give a crap, so long as it got her high. Now she only uses the pharmie stuff. Clean, consistent and cheap.

The blue color is from the antihistamines. When the pseudo isnt cleaned properly antihistamines such as loratidine, phenidamine and promethazine are carried over.
When reduced these compounds usually turn dark blue or gray.
Though lithium is blue when dissolved, it wouldnt remain so in a finished product. The moment lithuim reacts with oxygen it breaks down rapidly in an exothermic reaction.
Red or brown color is usually (but not always) caused by a migration of the hcl salt, resulting in a (brownish) free-base oil.

To answer swiys question, assuming "it" is methamphetamine.

Pure product is crystalline white and burns with no residue.

Many possibility that can lead to blue colour, for example swim once had bought a muriatic acid that is blue colour that mean the acid got impurities inside, after adding acid to the water and extract the free base meth from the non-polar solvent and evapourate off the water and use acetone to crush the crystal out and after filter away the acetone, swim crystal is still taint with a light blue colour, swim can crush the big crystal and use more acetone to wash off the colouring and impurities. Most cooks don't bother to wash and do a recrystalize, that why most of the meth on the street contain many impurities in it.

Swim got some blue and thought it was bunk. Everyone says different. No telling. Once in a dream my cat put pink food coloring in it which made it no stronger or better. A mental thing swim guesses.

swim use to get ink and blue stuff all the time and it was really good...
mostly the blue stuff would get me so spadaked out that swim would talk to himself and his shadow as a friend!

altho swim was doing acid while doin meth so i dont know if that would be the cause of it...

the pink stuff was a lil better then the clear crytals but it did the job...

ive heard so many thing about why there are colors in it, swims cook told me that she would just add kool aid while it was drying to give it and extra cool look...i call bs on that but she made it and swim smoked it so i dunno...

Swim has heard that when it actually burns down to a piss-yellowish color before re-crystalizing it's called "lemon drop" meth.. which is good, but swim doesn't have as much experience with this as others.

*BUMP* (May be a chemistry question, but my first instinct was that it pertains to purity/testing/ingestion, etc.)

SWIM'S dog made his own crank by dissolving lithium in annie ammonia and then smoked out the goods with hcl gas. There are a number of things that could go wrong with this method so he's afraid something has gone slightly wrong, but nothing terrible as the product still gets him high.

Reagents SWIM'S dog used:
-pseudoephedrine hcl extracted from Claritin-D 240mg tabs
-33-0-0 fertilizer (not 100% but upwards of 95% pure annie ammonium nitrate)
-sodium hydroxide crystals
-dry Coleman's Fuel (dried with baked epsom salts)
-clean dry lithium strips from AA Energizer lithium batteries
-5 mL distilled water to kick off reaction of lye with fertilizer (liberates ammonia gas which dissolves the lithium when it oversaturates the fuel)
-HCl gas (combined concentrated muriatic acid and NaCl)
-dry acetone for washing and distilled water for recrystallization (used oversaturation/ temperature change method)

He did an acetone wash and a recrystallization because it wasn't clear crystals; it was a white powder with a slight blueish tint. He made a glass dick and when it melts it runs from the flame like a charm and most of it melts clear, but some of it turns brown. Is he just overheating it or is this a sign of impurities? Also when it cools most of it cracks back but some of it stays a gooey yellowish-brownish mess. This he assumes to be some impurities still leftover, possibly unreduced pseudoephedrine/ overreduced crank/ loratadine that didn't get degakked all the way? What are some possible impurities and what are the dangers of smoking, eating, and insufflating said impurities?

Meth is bad regardless. But any color other than clear or white is suspicious. SWIM once told me that people have been trying to 'exoticize' their stuff over others by including dyes and 'flavors'. SWIM isn't sure if that's true, but believe it can be based on the market (competition). Does it taste a certain way or have a certain odor that could be considered 'fruityfull'?

Keep in mind that SWIM has seen colors in their past and it doesn't always have to do with rushed batches, but sometimes purposely intended to come out that way..., i.e. "did you check out that new blue stuff, i know someone who can get it."
