Oral use - Tasty kava shakes! Recipe included.

So last night, Swivy and hubs made kava shakes. Swivy's was the best. She made a rocky road kava shake, and it was so tasty...except for the bitter aftertaste. If anyone is interested, here is the recipe:

Swivy's super tasty kava shake
2 tbsp powdered Kava Kava (powdered is easier than the root to use here)
1/2 tsp lecithin
1/2 tsp veg oil
~half a cup of soymilk (add more or less for texture, cows milk is fine too)
3-4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa (hot cocoa mix would work too, as does instant breakfast mix of any flavor)
2 scoops of rocky road ice cream (or SWIY's favorite flavor)
Splash or 3 of water
Sugar to taste! (very important to fight the nasties)

Take kava, oil and lecithin and put into a deep glass bowl or cup

add water until mixture is about the consistancy of thick cake batter

let kava mix sit for 15-30 minutes

Put soymilk, kava mix, cocoa, and sugar into a tall, wide cup
and then add enough ice cream to fill the cup, leaving room to mix

use electric hand mixer (reg blender or stick blender would work too)
and blend until very smooth.

cover and put in fridge for 30-60 minutes

drink, be numbed and enjoy! Serves 1. Double recipe for 2 and so on.
