Best drugs for visuals?

SWIM's top five visually 'trippy' drugs, that he's tried so far:

1. Bufotenin (home-made 'yopo'-type snuff)
2. Psiloc(yb)in (mushrooms)
3. MDA (suspected content of unusually trippy 'ecstasy' pills)
4. LSA (Hawai'ian Baby Woodrose)
5. MDMA

He's also had milder visuals, mainly closed-eye, from cannabis, various piperazines, mephedrone and 2C-B (which is generally very visual, SWIM hears, but SWIM only had the tiniest taster of it).

SWIM is specifically listing drugs that seem to affect mainly serotonin production/re-uptake or that bind to serotonin receptors as far as their visual element is concerned, i.e. he's intentionally NOT counting dissociatives such as salvia, ketamine or DXM, or deleriants such as diphenhyramine. Although it was on the latter that SWIM has had his only 'true' hallucinations, in the sense of seeing something that wasn't there at all, as opposed to a distortion of real vision or an overlaid pattern. This is just because they seem to be very different in character.

SWIM's strongest yopo experience was a (third-)eye-opener, he can tell you - a full-on immersive 3-d realm. Strikingly geometrical (hello, native South-American art!) as opposed to the flowing, organic tendrils seen on mushrooms. Which is interesting to SWIM, as bufotenin (5-HO-DMT) is a structural isomer of psilocin (4-HO-DMT). Bufotenin is also in effect 'dimethyl-serotonin', since serotonin is 5-hydroxy-tryptamine (5-HT).

SWIM has incidentally had very mild CEVs with codeine and opium tea, which he suspects is just a secondary effect of increased serotonin levels.

So over to you: which drugs give you the 'best', or most intense/interesting, visuals?

Haven't tried LSD or any other hallucinogens, but of the stuff my Marmoset has done, those are the most interesting visually.

My raver friend says the only things he's ever gotten visuals off of are 2C-T-2, DOB, and Mescaline and he has more experience with 2C-T-2 than anything so he would have to rank it as 2C-T-2, Mescaline, DOB. LSD gave very little visual activity to the point they were negligible. Diphenhydramine actually gave decent visuals. Smoking weed will stir up so many memories from trips and elicit so many visuals that my raver friend trips off weed. (+1 for being a lightweight.)

Out of LSD, Magic Mushrooms, and Mescaline, swim would rate them in that order.

Diphenhydramine isn't exactly the kind of visuals/halucinations that SWIY would really want. SWIM has done it a few times and he saw many hallcinations only they were too realistic and very scary, in fact one of his trips he was out of his mind for a week. He was told by his friends tht he was talking, having intelligent conversations, with soemone who wasn't there, but remmbers talking to good friends only to find he was talking to himself. He also saw insects coming out of his arms and swarms of bugs trying to get in the house. Along with auditory halluciantions of screaming and roaring, none of which was actually there but the hallucinaitons were undistinguishable from reality.

MDMA visuals? Are you referring to MDMA or Ecstasy? This Crazy Pot Head has never experienced visuals from MDMA... but he also hasn't experimented with any more that 150mg or so.

Well let's not split hairs here, and simply assume 'ecstasy' = MDMA. Visuals are highly likely on MDMA, becoming more likely as the dose increases...SWIM can verify that it can become quite strongly visual at doses around or above 200-300mg (i.e. 2-3 decent pills). Weed ramps it up a notch, of course.

Though you may come across 'ecstasy' pills adulterated with other drugs that are more visual than MDMA (see number 3 on SWIM's list).

LSD- formations of new patterns , angles, and sometimes colours

MDA- random visuals: box car repeatedly passing through a hallway door

Salvia- distortions of size, time lapses

Ketamine- astral travel lol, saw everything in a room being sucked into the Television as if it was a black hole

My towel found that LSD was the drug that caused him to 'turn on' to visuals. Of course, he got an immense amount on LSD itself. But more, it was only after he did LSD that he then got any kind of visual experience from weed and ecstasy.

Ecstasy in particular was notable - he'd done many pills before, often 4 or more in a night, and never had any kind of visual experience. But once he'd done LSD for the first time, each subsequent ecstasy trip was accompanied by quite strong comedown visuals. By the stage of the high where he was starting to mellow out and would start smoking weed, he'd get quite strong visual effects including ghost-like double vision. And this wasn't just in the days or weeks following an LSD trip, but even with a gap of months also.

Secondly - a question. My towel has done LSD and mushrooms, but never mescaline. He's always wanted to try it but never had a chance so far. Could a veteran of those three drugs explain the differences between LSD, mushrooms and mescaline in terms of the trip and visual experience?

Richi rated mescaline as third best after LSD and mushrooms, which surprised my towel - he had always assumed that mescaline would be up close to LSD, certainly stronger than mushrooms.

SWIM's most visual trip was off 26" of fairly potent San Pedro Cactus, dried and encapsulated. Objects were more distorted than he had ever seen before, and colors flowed out of everything.

LSD produces very visual trips for SWIM at times. SWIM also sees neat patterns on LSD, but nothing like mescaline.

3 hits of DOB made SWIM's third most visual experience. He remembers seeing patterns similar to mescaline and amazing CEVs. When SWIM went outside, everything he saw looked plastic or synthetic.

3.5 g of strong psilocybin mushrooms make SWIM's 4th most visual trips. Shrooms give him a particularly colorful experience.

LSA caused SWIM to see patterns all over the walls of his house, which was neat. SWIM saw brighter lights and small auras as.

SWIM has not yet had the pleasure of trying DMT, PCP, Ketamine, 2C-B, and many other substances yet but expects some intense visual trips.

For the unicorn swim once knew it would be a very hard choice between LSD and Psilocin mushrooms (liberty caps).
Although it depends on the type of visuals.
LSD - the unicorn actually went temporarily blind through visual input, had to crawl hir way around the room!
Mushies - there are actually 4 dimensions to vision (x,y,z and mushy) all melting, melting, melting......

Something SWIM's found with the very strongly visual tryptamines (mushrooms, yopo) is that the visuals are actually 'rendered' at a higher 'resolution' than anything SWIM can see with his eyes. It's as if his visual cortex runs at a higher 'DPI' than his retina - so taking these drugs was a bit like having a computer with a really top-of-the-line graphics card that you never knew about, because you'd always had it plugged into an old CRT monitor, then temporarily swapping it for a brand new hi-def flatscreen and being blown away by the image quality. If you see what SWIM means.

Anyone else know what SWIM's talking about? It's not like SWIM has poor vision by any means - he's still young(ish) and doesn't wear lenses - but the difference in resolution between vision and visuals was startling.

SWIM experienced the following:

With N2O, Ketamine, DXM, MDMA, Mephedrone, Weed, JWH-018, LSA, etc. visuals were there, but more focused on closed-eye visuals. Combinations involving the last-named substances significantly improved the visuals, and produced some nice dreamy visuals, and really increased visual thinking (i.e., seeing the things you think happening right before you).

1. Benzydamine (deleriant) was enough on his own + marijuana it was insanely intense visually. As far as Alf knows benzydamine is neither anticholinergic nor antihistamine and even though experiencing a wide range of true hallucinations (tactile and auditory too) can be shocking and scary at times, most creatures were actually wishing to repeat the experience, imagine.

3. DXM (4th plateau) + marijuana, uh oh, got to see Them to believe what DXM can really do
4. Hashish - a few grams smoked when Alf was still rather inexperienced pothead gave him beautiful opened-eyes psychedelic visuals
5. Psilocybin mushrooms ("liberty caps")
6. Salvia, short and damn scary it was but visuals with apparently opened-eyes accompanied it
7. Ecstasy - impossible to say what was inside those pills, but there were some simple and pleasant visual distortions after Alf ate them
8. Amanita muscaria - same as above, simple psychedelic visual distortions, not as pleasurable as XTC but much, oh much more pleasurable than Salvia
9. Heroin - quite surprising closed-eyes visual mindspace (is it what opiates' users call "nod"?)

SWIM is surprised nobody has said 2ce yet. It is a quite visual indeed. Sometimes the visuals get quite intense too, but in a good way. That is SWIM's recommendation, he thinks highly of the compound anyway.

Swim would recommend ketamine as it is the only one he has tried which produced OEV's and CEV's.

Low dose, open eye, Swiy won't really "see" much, however high doses, open eye, things will go very wonky and out of proportion (e.g, say Swiy was looking at the TV in Swiy lounge, the door to the room will appear closer to the TV. And, say Swiy has a coffee table infront of you, that will change in size too). Swim thinks it is awesome and highly recommends it.
