GHB and sleep
SwiM's pie has pretty serious sleep issues. It has a very hard time trying to stick to a regular sleeping pattern and many nights doesn't go to bed until after the sun comes up. It just doesn't feel tired and if it tries to sleep while not tired, it winds up laying there for hours with no luck.
It has tried melatonin and other sleep-supplements with little success, and has on several occasions taken diphenhydramine for the sole purpose of getting to sleep. However the night after a diphenhydramine 'coma', the pie always has even more trouble falling asleep to the point where it will lay there and roll around for hours and not fall asleep even if it is truly tired! It of course tries all the common suggestions - drink milk, clear your mind etc etc and they mostly don't help the pie.
The pie is wondering about the efficacy of GHB for inducing sleep. It is looking for a relatively safe sleep-aid it can use on occasions (not like every night etc) which will allow it to sleep that night, without making pie feel drowsy the next day or affecting the next night's sleep patterns too much...
Edit: sorry, I know this topic has probably been beaten to death...
