"Meth is highly toxic; with chronic use, the user’s body essentially burns itself up."
from http://www.gdcada.org/statistics/meth.htm

i found it when i was tryin to figure out the actual # of deaths from meth. hmmmmmmm.....this has got to be the most overexaggerated statement made to scare people.

maybe its true? i mean i don't know about any of you guys but i have never heard of any meth addicts dying from spontaneous combustion...how about ya'll?

I dont think they were talking about the scientifically unprovenphenomenon of 'spontaneous combustion', wherein people suddenly burst into flames. I think they were just trying to say that, with most hard drugs, prolonged abuse takes a severe toll on the human body. I think the biggest line of BS on the page is when they say meth is easy to produce. lol look around this forum and you will agree this isnt true.

As for the toxic part i honsetly have no idea. But taking a spin off of the burning the body up, i can interperate that. What if they are talking about the meth binges that people go on where they can be up for a few days to a week just doing meth to keep them going. This is very hard on the body, thus causing the body to work harder at the things that were once easy. This in turn will burn you up.

Maybe this isnt how they wanted it said but that's my take on it.

I'd also imagine that not eating for several days in a row would cause the
body to, in layman's terms, "essentially burn itself up".

yeah that makes sense... probably what they meant

it's just funny that even if that's what they really meant, they try to
use the most horrible diction to twist it even a little bit. i can
imagine a kid reading that and getting the idea that your body would
actually "burn up"

but i guess thats their goal
