I was wondering why DMT makes you feel like you cannot breathe after smoking it off a foil.. I feel like it might be really bad for the lungs but I am not sure.

Smoking it off a foil? yes, it is extremely effective.It bases right up.I've heard of people putting it on their buds and I plan to look into that further if I get the chance.

I think your feeling like you can't breathe has to do with inhaling
fumes from the foil. It has made me feel like that smoking other
substances. It must be very bad for your lungs. I tried smoking 5
MEO-DMT on salvia, but the salvia had an effect as well. I experienced
a lot of energy!

I wouldn't recommend to smoke it from a aluminium foil. The reason is,
that there might be NaOH left from the extraction (which is mostly used
when converting it from salt to freebase). NaOH and Aluminium is
reacting to ... something...I don't know what, since my chemist
knowledge is pretty low. But just drop/put some NaOH on a piece of foil
and you know what I mean. It starts to bubble and to get more hot.

I m not sure if this is connected with your problem (probably not),
since I found the smoke of DMT also pretty harsh. It simply doesn't
feel very healty to the lungs.

But in spite of that I would always recommend a glass based smoking device.

SWIM has smoked it off of foil and it works but it is very inefficient. I think the DMT just makes you feel dead which is why you think you cant get any air. Its like that for me atleast. I dont think the foil has anything to do with it.

dmt freebase is going to taste like shit and be really harsh no matter
how you smoke it. This is one of the parts of it that is more
annoying to me, fortunately my experiances are awlays so
consuming that i dont pay attention to my lungs.

On bud it would work, i remember getting some 5meodmt. It was
before my meth smoking days so i didnt have a freebase bulb to
smoke it, instead i just bought a pack of ciggarettes, took the
tobacco at the end of the ciggarette, then added some of hte
5medmt to it, lit it up and smoked it. It is a wonderful experiance, i
used lucky strikes (no filters) for fear of what the filters might do.
Plus as the stuff wears down, and the ciggarettes is still burning,
(you probably wont be in a condition to smoke it while you are
platuing) and it looks really really cool. But i digress, the shit tastes
nasty no matter what.

Where does one acquire a freebase pipe, or a pipe that will work in the same fashion, for the purposes of DMT?

You could smoke it in a hash pipe, with some material under and covering it (like parsley or grass).



I think we can't discuss sources here, even for pipes.

there is a gas station near me that sells "rose stems" which are really just glass tubes with asmall plastic rose in them, these are used for crack. In addition there are also these little bulbs that have a rose in them, the bulbs looka bit like a really small lightbulb with a long tube and a hole in the bulb part. Get one of those and just drop whatever u want to smoke, put a lighter under the shit for a bit covering the little whole, then when the little bulb is full of smoke, go nuts.

Washing NPS:

This process will remove as much crap from the naphtha solution as possible. Especially the lye.
Begin by taking25 ml of Distilled water and placing it into a flask and adding sodium carbonate to it. Just add a pinch to the Distilled water. You will only be using this mixture for the first wash. Do not use it for the second and third washes.
Add only a small amount of the water/sodium carbonate solution to your naphtha containing alkoloids. Mix the 2 together and then place them in a small sealed jar. Shake the hell out of it this is the only mixing step where the liquids separate almost immediately so no worries about too much agitation. Separate thenaptha from the water using a pipette or eye dropper & discard the water.
For the second and third washes you want to use only distilled water nothing should be added. 25 ml per wash is sufficient. Perform the same procedure as above. DON'T leave the water in the naphtha for too long, you need to get it in and out. Th results will be very smooth smoke.

In response to Phenethylamine's original post: I recall similar effects (feeling like I couldn't breathe)years ago when I smoked phalaris and it wasn't even free-based it was just thetop growth ofthe grass. I recall it had a couple moments of overwhelming intensity which made me question if I was even breathing at all! The more I thought about it the harder it was to breathe. I beleive this may be one of the effects of the intoxication not the manner in which it was refined or thevessel it was smokedthrough (since my product was neither refinednor smoked on foil.)
