Swim is very interested in trying some dihydrocodeine. Does any swiy know if swim can get dihydrocodeine in Australia in tablet or cough syrup form? Swim will explain why below

SWIM has tried codeine about 4 times at 100-160mg doses, always atleast two weeks in between doses, and each time the experience has been mildly to very unpleasant (no euphoria just itchy and nauseous). he doesnt want to try any more because the negative effects would be too much. Basically codeine is of no recreational value to him its only good for mild pain relief.

Swim has good memories of when he was just a little kid (age 10 or 11) and his older sister talked him into trying cough syrup with her (lol yeah pretty dodgy). Swim only took about 25mL and it was pretty awesome until swims mum found out. Swim is 95% sure it was rikodeine which is 19mg dihydrocodeine per 10mL. Does anyswiy know if swim can still find this stuff for sale or any other OTC sources of dihydrocodeine in australia would be grealy appreciated.

Swim prefers codeine to dihydrocodeine. The effects of di don't last anywhere near as long and seem to be less substantial. Swim finds codeine to be a multi-layered experience with many enjoyable effects. Di seemed to produce only a short lasting euphoria.

It comes in P*r*mol tablets in the UK, 7.5 mg in each, he doesn't know if they're available in Australia.

If codeine doesn't work it seems unlikely di would either, they both have to be converted to stonger metabolites in the liver before any recreational or medicinal effects can be gained.

The itchiness and sickness is caused by a histamine reaction, swim found this to be a lot more severe with di than with codeine. It can be controlled by taking an antihistamine medication alongside. After several weeks use the adverse effects weaken a lot though.

He feels swiy has not given codeine sufficient time yet. Swim found the most interesting period on codeine didn't happen until he'd already been taking it several months. His body built sufficient tolerance to be able to handle large doses, but not yet so high that the effects were diminished. It's not like other drugs, the body has to "learn" how to use it properly.

It's in the OTC cough syrup Rikodeine, 19mg per 10ml and it's a 200ml bottle. Be warned, it also contains 4g+ of sorbitol per 10ml so drinking a decent dose will likely mean you shit yourself for the next couple of hours.

Swim had a fairly high codeine tolerance (see: constipated pretty badly) and took 8mg Loperamide with a whole bottle and STILL spent the next few hours shitting water.

There's a extraction process you can go through to get rid of the sorbitol but frankly, it's not worth it. This is the only OTC source in Aust too.

where i live, a lot of chemists don't stock it. it's pretty nasty stuff and as someone said, you spent half the night on the toilet.

well swim did end up getting a bottle of rikodeine and used it in 60-60 then 80mL doses. swim says it was similar to codeine but the negative effects were to a way lesser extent so he could actually enjoy it for a bit, it also lasted a surprisingly long time, about 8 hours. Swim also reports that for him at this dosage the laxative effects of the sorbitol perfectly cancelled out the opiate constipation. swim cant understand why this method isnt more popular than codeine from tablets
