Heroin and HPPD

SWIM has used LSD and mushrooms maybe 20 times over the last 3 years or so. Some trips were good, some were bad. Now after prolonged heroin use, he gets very obvious visual trails when looking at moving objects. Is there a connection here between the heroin and the lsd or is SWIM experiencing something brought about purely by heroin use? Who else can testify to these effects and how does their history of psychadelic drug use read?
