Effects - Swivy finally got her hands on some chitosan!

Swivy looked through all the posts containing the word "chitosan" in TFSE and found no accounts of anyone's cat or fish getting some chitosan and using it to increase the BA of their morphine. She couldn't find any reports of anyone's dog or gerbil confirming if it worked. So Swivy's hub went to the health food store and got some.

Swivy felt like a little kid on xmas holding that bottle of the coveted crustacean crud. Immediately Swivy got to work. She took a 1g capsule and opened it on a clean plate. She then crushed up 120 mg of MSIR tablets into a fine powder and then mixed the two piles of powder until they were as uniform as she could get them without the benefit of a mortar and pestil. Then Swivy got the cleanest water in the house--spring water for drinking. Not distilled, but Swivy wasn't going to worry too much about it.

Next, Swivy got a bottle of saline nose spray that had about a 4th of its original contents in it left. Swivy popped open the bottle and put the mixture of saline solution, spring water, and powder into a glass and stirred it with a wooden skewer. Swivy noticed some floaty crap on top, so she placed a plastic card in the mix to collect all the insoluable stuff that would probably clog the bottle and maybe even hurt the noses of whomever used the solution. Then she added a bit more water to fix the consistancy, put the mixture into the saline solution bottle and popped the top back on...and shook it like a mad swivy.

So, the verdict:
It works well, she tells me. Very, very well. Swivy had her first nod off of MSIR, hell, any morphine she's ever used. The pain relief and bonus high lasted a good few hours! Swivy is thrilled that her pain meds actually work like the oxy she used to take did, if not better.

Never ever heard of it, does swiy think it will help bring on the nods with Oxy too?
Ms is kinda out of bounds for this swim.

Swiys excitment was precious, 9 hours till swims script is ready and you nearly displayed exactly how swims morning will be

Swivy honestly doesn't know. She had just heard about it for morphine because it has such a low bioavailability. Maybe somebody can tell us, because Swivy has oxy script coming from her surgeon's office in the mail.

oh than awsome, even if no one has the info Swiys experiance will be apreciated to read,
swim read some articles just before about it but only saw info about diet freiks in love with it as it blocks fat absorbtion (or something to that effect)

If swim can nodd on Oxy's. than his whole world would be a better place

Good Post. SWIY beat SWIM to it! haha. SWIM was actually looking for chitosan when he saw your thread. SWIM is glad to see an experience report regarding the intranasal use of chitosan to increase to bioavailability of morphine. When SWIM conducts his research he will post his results... hopefully they will support SWIY's findings. )

Both Swivy and hubs have found it to be very effective. In fact, hubs underestimated his dosage at first and got sick, poor guy. So, be very cautious and err on the side of caution. Hopefully SWIY gets the good results we've had.

You should be able to find a lot of stuff about it here in the search engine. The only thing I have any great info about it from the web is here. And here is an abstract about it from this Journal of Pain and Symptom Management. Nothing about oxy, it's all about morphine tho.
