Am going shroom hunting tommorrow morning and don't know what exactly to look for other than they are mushrooms that grow wild in cow fields under cow manure. Does the type of cow matter because someone said they had to be dairy cows.

Re: Do Magic Shrooms have to come from only dairy cows ?
Quote:
While swims turtle does not know where you are located, (or if psychedelic mushrooms even grow naturally in your area) eating mushrooms that you can't positively identify is foolish, and in some cases can be lethal. And no- the type of cow should have no effect. |

am in the exact center of US, shrooms are found around here constantly, I've just never looked. Also, I wouldn't ingest a mushroom I couldn't identify 100 percent but thanks for the good advice.

Re: Do Magic Shrooms have to come from only dairy cows ?
if you have to ask a forum what type of cow manure they come from you will not be able to clearly identify them. for one, magic mushrooms dont only grow on cow manure, they are much more likely in soded well maintained lawns(depending on your area). and a mushroom thats grown in manure has no more of a hallucinogenic garentee than the ground or trees do, its just a very suitable environment for all mushrooms to grow.
even a trained mycologist shouldnt go on a mushroom hunt, identifying a strain goes alot deeper than where its growing and the outside appearance. their are many deadly strains that have an identical appearance to hallucinogenic strains. you make think that you can identify it 100% but with out LARGE text book and some extensive training, its not going to happen. |

Re: Do Magic Shrooms have to come from only dairy cows ?
The quick answer to the question: No - the type of cow has no bearing on the type of mushroom that grows in it's manure.
The long response is: It's generally agreed upon that the worst possible way to acquire magic mushrooms is to go hunting in cow-fields. Mycology is a very tricky science and all of the indicators of a possible psilocybin-bearing mushroom are present in other mushrooms, from the mundane to the deadly (growing in cow dung, bruising blue, etc.). There are better ways - healthier ways - smarter ways. Don't get dead. |
