Drug Action Week-Just say NO
This month in Australia, is (once again) Drug Action Week. Although this years and last years sogan was, "Alcohol is a Drug...TOO", by the end of the week, everyone is back to harping on about the 'illicit' drugs again. The Government's slogan is, "Just say NO to drugs'. Here is our take on it. -
The “Just say NO to drugs” campaign is working no better than it did with the U.S.A. brought it in during the Reagan Administration. It is not a ’Say NO to drugs’ campaign at all, only a ’Say NO to illicit drugs’ campaign. Meanwhile, it’s “Say a resounding YES to all legal DRUGS, regardless of the problems that using, abusing and addicting oneself to these drugs can cause. What we must say a resounding “NO!” to is any of the below…… We must just say, "NO!" to social segregation. (Although all people take some form of drug and enjoy their drugs either recreationally or medicinally, the people of Australia - and in fact much of the World - are socially segregated when it comes to CHOICE. People can abuse any amount of alcohol and caffeine products as they like, as well as food, X-treme sports, and most other lifestyles, despite the amount of problems they cause the brain, body, social aspects. Yet, even use e.g. cannabis responsibly, and you can be arrested, fined, jailed, lose your job lose your house, lose your ‘standing’ in the community and so on as well earn yourself nicknames -even from the Government - as ‘loser‘, ‘dickhead‘, ‘scum‘ drug addict‘ etc). We must just say, "NO!" to discrimination. (Just because a person chooses to use e.g. cannabis, does not make him/her any worse than e.g. a person who enjoys their alcohol - but they are treated like the homosexuals, Jews, ‘blacks’, single parents, heretics etc. of yesteryear). We must just say, "NO!" to bigotry. No drugs in Sport?……Sport is owned by Drug cartels. There are drug slogans all over the field, the ball, the clothing, around the field, in the dressing rooms….where aren’t they? (Ethanol mainly, but often Caffeine as well). Our Sports people are often in trouble due to abusing their choice of ‘legal’ drug, but it’s usually a slap on the hand (unless many times repeat offenders), but woe betide anyone who chooses another drug, even if it doesn’t affect their playing/ swimming etc. No drugs in Parliament?….yet Parliament House sports its own drug dealer/ pub and some Politicians have been in trouble for being drunk…but they’ve never lost their job or home or ’standing’ because of it. We have our Police and politicians having their photo taken with ethanol drug dealers, big smiles on their faces, arms around them, and usually sporting an ethanol drug in hand. .Drug free Australia? - Yeah right! Where can you go where adults and children alike are not being targeted by ethanol or caffeine drug ads? Can you go to a BBQ or family event (public or otherwise) where ethanol is not being served? Can you watch an ad break or a Sport’s programme without being targeted by an ethanol or caffeine drug ad? Can you turn on a tv programme (yes, even in family time….e.g. Home and Away, Neighbours) without people being down the pub or consuming alcohol at home? No Tolerance on Drugs, say no to drugs? - Yeah right. To coin the movie "The Castle"...tell 'em they're dreaming". We must just say "NO!" to hypocrisy. The word hypocrite means 'Actor' and the word hypocrisy means 'An Act'. People act as though the drug they are taking is a ‘drink’ and they’re just ‘drinking’, ‘drink’ driving, are ‘party goers and revellers’, and ‘it’s all good mate’. In actual fact they are drug using, drug abusing and being addicted to the drug ethanol. While we always refer to it as a ‘drink’ no-one will take it seriously. But mention the word “DRUG’ and everyone immediately thinks of cannabis and other ‘illicits’ and is horrified that anyone would even choose that over their favourite legal drug/s. We must just say "NO!" to eradication of subject matter/ individual and collective choices. One of our favourite statements is. "Eradicate always stems from erratic hate". An erratic hatred can be seen to be wielded in every single prohibition on subject matter since we first applied the word. The war on ethanol, the war on the Jews, Gypsies, Disabled, Homosexuals, etc. the war on heretics, the war on books, music, fashion, food, coffee, tea, kilts, tomatoes, potatoes and much more. These wars are always waged in the name of supremacy, dominion and the complete suppression and annihilation of others that they don’t like or agree with. Why do we allow (un)-civil war to be waged on our own people? We import and export drugs left , right and centre and welcome drug cartels with open arms, while putting out massive penalties and punishment for anyone who even dares bring a tiny little bit of any of the 'competition' into the country. At the moment, we traffic drugs back and forth between Bali, where one of our own rots in jail and no one has a damn clue whether she is innocent or guilty because she supposedly brought drugs to Bali that are not pushed and advocated by either their Government or our Government. This Muslim country turns a blind eye to a drug called ethanol...(as well, as nicotine which is a big thing there - and yes, even the judge who sentenced Schapelle abused a drug and its delivery system, cigarettes, all through the trial, that kills 16,000 a year in Australia alone) that their religion demands they do not touch because it is evil..... …….hmmmmm. Evil drugs? Sounds like our drug apartheid policy, which glorifies drugs and drug lords while denigrating and vilifying others, which is why we again state, "Just say NO to bigotry!" We must just say 'NO!' to pushing drugs on kids in family mediums. We must just say, "NO!" to allowing youth to perform in drug venues. We must just say, NO!" to having kids parties/ events in drug venues. We must just say, "NO" on constantly advocating intoxication for the next generation. We must just say, "NO!" to the suppression of factual and unbiased information and education. It took Governments and drug lords long enough to confess that there are 60 medical conditions associated with a drug named 'drink'. It's true psychoactive drug name is ethanol/ethyl alcohol/ethane hydroxide, and it is a psychoactive drug contained in one of the most pushed 'drinks' in our country and in fact, the world. The other psychoactive drug name is the legal meth stimulant drug pushed on all ages, tri-methyl-xanthine, also lovingly known as caffeine, theo-bromine and guarnine. We must just say, "NO!" to persecution and eradication policies, just because someone makes a different choice than someone else. To force this policy on others is to make a dictatorship out of a democracy and drag this country and the world back to a time many people remember in history called the Inquisition, ……and don’t forget the persecution, eradication, suppression, slander, vilification of those deemed 'heretics that came from it'. And last, but certainly not least, once we remove all the discrimination, bias, bigotry etc. and replace it with TOLERANCE. But, more than tolerance.......ACCEPTANCE. All these things add up to something we treasure more than money, more than fame, more than success, and that is what Australia, it's Government and it's people are supposed to be standing on like a foundation - The FAIR GO FOR ALL! Once this happens, then we can concentrate finally (without Police etc. saying, "We haven't got enough resources" to tackle domestic violence, child abuse, assault, rape etc.), on targeting the only thing in this country and this world that the human race. in any way shape or form, should be targeting, and that is to 'JUST SAY NO TO ABUSE IN ALL ITS FORMS!" This message proudly brought to you by those who truly wish for a Fair Go for all, who truly wish for all drug problems to finally be brought under control, who truly wish for unity, tolerance and acceptance in this country. For as the old saying goes, "United we stand, divided we fall". Last edited by Jeannie; 06-06-2009 at 01:58. Reason: changed format a bit |
