Ok ok, so here's my Marmoset's problem, and please help if you can!

"I took cocaine as a one off a couple of weeks back....and I will at some point be due a hair strand test.

I've been doing some reading to try and figure out the timeline etc.

If I took it on lets say the 1st of June, does that mean that the hair that grows from my body from that date will contain traces of cocaine? IE, the next 90 days of growth will contain it?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out a way of trimming or plucking that will mean that it'll alllll be gone, but I'm not sure when it's finished expelling itself from my body into my hair."

Any ideas??

I don't know, but I would certainly get a short haircut at the very least. If its the 1st of June I think you're gonna have to go bald...

LOL fair enough. I'm more worried about the fact that I THINK that even though it was just once, the 90 day AFTER that is when the cocaine attaches to the hair....so basically....if i shaved my head on the 2nd of june....the cocaine would still be attaching itself to newly grown hair for the next 90 days.

If that's the case....then I have to wait 90 days....AND then a month or 2 after that so i can trim the original 90 days....did that makes sense??

They can take hairs from anywhere so don't bother shaving your head. There are kits that use chemicals to take the stuff out of your hair, but swim's not sure how well they work since he himself hasn't used them. Supposedly you can just bleach your hair also. The way hair tests work is they look for the chemical bi-products from ingesting a substance, in this case cocaine. Hair works kind of like a filtering agent and that's how it gets stuck in there. So in theory if you destroy, scramble, or contaminate what's in the hair sample it would be rendered useless in detecting drug use. Ever tried nair or waxing? Hope this helps.

Looked into bleaching etc but it's instantly considered as tampering....doh!

It looks like the next 90 days it'll be gradually released into my new hair, so I wont be ok to test til 90 days + extra for trimming....this sucks.

sometimes it can be found more than 90 days after use in any body hair. the hair on the body takes longer to grow, and can store signs of drug use for much longer than the hair on your head.

dont be too stressed out though. one off cocaine use could be found anywhere between 3-90 days. it could come back clean. there are sites found on the net that claim to be able to mask the drugs from being found in tests. swim doesnt know the validity of the hair strand preparations, however she does know people who have taken "quick flush", and successfully passed urine tests. she doesnt know if that particular test flushes hair strands, but there are products that "claim" to do so...

who knows if the other preparations work, but they can be found on google quite easily, and if swiy decides to try one, then best come back and notify if it works or not obviously.

But to clarify...you say it COULD be found anythign up to 90 days lets say.

Does that mean it grows into new hair for 90 days? Or that an contaminates in my hair will dissapear after max 90 days?

Basically what I'm getting at is; if the cut off is 90 days, does that mean im fine from there on?

OR does the 90 day period simply dictate the period of time that the drug is grown into new hair?

Well, I was somewhat peaked in curiosity by your question.

They say 90% effectively against modern hair tests against cocaine. 130$ is alot to spend on a product that might work :P

its different to the other methods of testing, because after the drugs are processed, trace amounts of its metabolites can still be found in the hair. they are inserted into the hair follicle by the bloodstream. there is no set amount of time for the metabolites to disappear, 90 days is just a standardized amount of time. the test is limited by the length of the hair sample, and the most recent 3.9cm (1.5 inches) are tested.

they can still be traced over 90 days though. depending on the reasons why swiy is getting tested, then swiy should consider not taking drugs at all if its going to result in anything like a breach of bail, affect custody rights, etc.

swims mate pays $100 for "quick flush" from the local pipe shop here, and has passed many tests. he smokes marijuana and is an IV methamphetamine addict. he works in construction and gets tested before hes allowed to start work.
