Effects - Revisiting: Injecting Heroin

Hey all,

Swim has a question regarding injecting H. Swim is going to be going in for a medical detox (to get off Suboxone, yes it's that hard for swim - 3 yrs of 6-16mg/day W/Ds are horrible.) in the next week or so, and has stopped his Subs a few months ago and has been eating Percs and snorting Oxys for that time - that addict-logic kicked in, "well swim might as well have fun before he goes in for detox." It's been probably...5 years since Swim injected H, swim did this morning though, when no pills could be found. W/D were beatin the hell out of swim like Royce Gracie, so swim made the decision to cop some dope.

So swim injected (after missing 4 times...rusty...) and was hit with a rush that he was not too familiar with. Maybe it's been so long that swim didn't recognize the "H-rush" or maybe this dope was just that different from dope from the past. Heart rate was elevated about 15 min. after and stayed like that for about an hour, a slightly light-headed feeling that came on probably 30 minutes later, nothing came of it and pretty soon it passed, but swim was curious: is it the dope? Is it just the fact that it's been so long? Could swim's body have changed and as a result the drug has a different effect? Is swim just taking a step back into 'novice territory?' Are all of these possibilities?

Well it's realy hard to say exactly...but hmmm...
A couple times just the rush/effects makes swims heart beat faster then it was before the shot....but eventualy goes down or slows down some...."withen a couple minutes afterwards" .....not sure whats going on with ur shot though...weird...
Maybe it was somthing else and not dope? Maybe it was somthing in the dope?
It could be alot of different things...on top of that u took 5 years off so u probably had forgot what it was like...swim would..lol...swims guess was somthing else was in the dope...cut with somthing..or maybe somthing all together?

What were Swiy's pupils doing? Any other effects? Sedation/agitation, nausea, sweating? How long did the effects last for?

Small pupils are a pretty good indication that Swiy is getting at least an opioid of some kind. Although if it is cut with something that activates the sympathetic nervous system this can confuse things by counteracting the opioid and causing normal/large pupils.

Swim appreciates the responses...

Pupils were acting like pupils should w/ an opiate, tiny pupils, slightly red around the eyes, for swim at least...

The strangest thing was the intense rush swim experienced right after injecting; swim pulled the need out, set it down and it was like swim was on one of those rides at the amusement park that takes you up 10 stories and drops you down vertically real fast.

The other odd thing was the rapid heartbeat afterwards, like I said it lasted about 30 min. or so. There was no agitation or nausea or anything...well, swim experienced the slightest bit of nausea for a short while, but swim thinks it was just the fact that it was the first shot in quite a while. Nothing counteracted the opiate, it definately did it's job.

Swim slammed a couple more times after that and everything seemed normal, slightly smaller dosage was applied and the rush was familiar from back-in-the-day.

Swim's best guess would be that maybe it was just a real intense swing from acute withdrawals into a heroin-high...? That's what swim likes to tell himself...yeah...sounds good.
