Health - Valerian Root Hepatotoxicity?

Swim has been using these alternatively with his alprazolam Rx to manage minor anxiety, so he doesn't have to pull out the heavy benzos when unnecessary. It's not anxiety-obliterating like Xanax is, but definitely takes the edge off just enough to function calmly without sedation.

However, after plenty of research, swim sees it has hepatoxic potential. If he uses it on a daily basis, are we talking damage on the level of a severe alcoholic?? Or like 2/3 drinks???? If he occasionally takes milk thistle, would this counter the hepatoxic effects? Are there any other contradictions swim should be aware of when using this supplement?
