Drug info - Synthetic opium?

Swim was curious about some opium he came across. It is swims understanding that by far most opium one would come across in the USA is synthetic, the real deal being very rare and VERY expensive. Someone swim knows told him it was made with fentanyl.

The drug itself is dark brown, smelling classically like opium, although it is not tar like most, fudgey is the only way to describe it, it crumbles in ones hand but is sticky at the same time.

Can anyone tell swim what this stuff is really made of? Or verify that it is made from fentanyl? Swim is having a very hard time finding info about this.
