Drug info - Absinthe Suggestions

My 21st birthday is coming up and I've been waiting to indulge in something interesting, as I rarely drink anymore. I was thinking of absinthe since the genuine stuff can now be legally obtained where I live.

I've had it once before; it was from Germany buy I don't remember the brand. What I enjoyed most was the clear-headed, optimistic, complex high it offered and I'm afraid of purchasing something that's just high proof booze dyed green.

However, I've gone and read so many reviews for so many different brands from so many different countries that my head is really spinning. Do you or SWIY have any suggestions as to what I should look for, or any specific kinds you've loved? Keep in mind, I'm willing to invest.
